Hell No..
So, ive installed a new DVD Drive and its powered up and the Computer recognises it. But it doesnt work when I put DVD+R, DVD+RW etc. For some reason the name changes to CD-Drive. See picture: Now, do you think ive put the wrong power supply cable into it? Is that possible? I used the spare one hanging from the CD Drive. Maybe thats why? What one should I use? Thanks for the help anyways, Helly. I'm on Twitch! Are you? Wolf68k
I'm assuming the D is a CD/DVD drive. I'm also going to assume that both the CD/DVD drivers on the same IDE chain. Make sure one has it's jumoer set to Master and the other to Slave. It doesn't matter which is which. Don't know how, read the manual that's what it's for. Hell No..
Well I think they already are. They wouldnt come up otherwise would they. Would they? DJDeez
Because it's being detected, I think there's nothing wrong with the power supply. What does your bios tell you about it? Maybe you have to change a couple of settings there to make it work properly.
Hell No..
Well it says its there and as a Slave. What else is there? I'm on Twitch! Are you? Come say Hi. https://www.twitch.tv/priceyryan
DJDeez
Shouldn't it be a Master?
Wolf68k
Don't guess. Don't assume. LOOK! By default most CD and DVD drives are set to Slave. I've seen it in the past that one mobo niether drive would show. Where as on another only one drive would show up. So it stands to reason it's possible on yours both would show up, but Windows gets confused.
Hell No..
I will. And sorry for the late reply. Anyway, excuse me for this, but I dont know, maybe this can be the problem? I found this Cable in the box... What exactly is it for? It doesnt say in the Manual though. Cheers. I'm on Twitch! Are you?
