To those of you who buy the Daily Mail or a memeber of your household gets it then turn to page 19 and prepare to be out raged.

On this page there is a tragic story about a boy of 13 shooting another boy of 13 with a shotgun. The article goes on to describe how GTA SA is completley to blame! Never mind the fact the kid's parents shouldn't buy there kids GTA an 18 rated game without at least finding out what its all about.

Aside from this which i consider minor. The parents didn't have the gun locked away securley!!! They make next to no mention of this, not only that but the kid knew where to find cartridges to load it. I own a shotgun as well and by law, at least in Scotland the ammuniton must be stored seperatley from the gun.

In the centre of the page is a nice box witha description of the game which is tottaly biased and completly outragous.

Anyone else read this article?

here's the article on what SanAn is all about (supposedly!)

SICK FANTASY WORLD WHERE 'KILLING' EARNS YOU POINTS

When I last played video games on a friend's Nintendo console more than ten years ago, the game's 'hero' would be given such innocent tasks as shooting alien spaceships or winning a go-kart race.

But in one of the biggest selling games of the 21st Century, players must collect points by killing policemen, carjacking, pimping and committing armed robbery.

Welcome to the world of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. After loading the 18-certificate game on to a Sony Playstation 2 machine, I discover I am yo 'play' Carl Johnson, a young hoodlum returning home from prison.  I can use the buttons at my fingertips to make Carl run, jump - and punch.

Trying to master the controls, I accidentally punch a pedestrian, who happens to be an old lady.  Blood spurts from her nose as her head jerks backwards.  Passers-by call me a 'bitch' and a 'mother******'.

Had I not been tasked with discovering what this game is about, I would walk away now from this vilonce and obscenity.  I carry on, and without warning a policeman arrives and challenges me.

I repeatedly hit the 'punch' button until the officer is lying on the ground, at which point the button allows me to stamp on his head.  The more I stamp, the larger the pool of blood around his head grows, It's two minutes into the game and I have killed my first cop.

I oot his pistol from his body.  Now I am armed. I am aware that my heart rate has increased slightly as a colleague enters the room in which I am playing the game.  Without realisng it I have become sufficiently immersed in my grisly alter-ego to block out what is going on around me.

Next, blonde prostitute approaches me at a street corner.  My character follows her into the back of a car where they have sex.  Then I find myself testing out my gun, shooting anyone who happens to be in range.  In less than an hour, I have managed to kill more than 50 people.

Having seen the instruction manuals, I know that drive-by shootings, carjackings, armed robberies and gang fights lie if I can progress through the first stage by linking up with fellow gangsters.

Already concerned at how nonchalantly I carried out countless virtual murders, I decide I've spent long enough in San Andreas

Damn this sh*t makes me sooo angry, i know i shouldn't be expecting a glowing 10star review especially from the Daily Mail, but half of that is just total bollocks.

you know when john lennon was killed? the person who killed him was encouraged by a BOOK! should we ban books too?

I just read the story, it's the same old bullsh*t... a few people make an uproar, a story gets written then it fades out like always.

The fault is with the child and the parents, not the store where they bought shotgun cartrides, not the shotgun manufacturer, not the faulty lock on the gun cabinet, not Scarface movies, not video games.

I managed to grow up in the Street Fighter II/Mortal Kombat era without shooting fireballs at my sisters or passers-by on the streets. How?

When I was 12 my mom saw me playing MK in the arcade room at a pizza place. She asked me later if I would do that stuff in real life.

I said I wasn't strong enough to pull anyone's spine out of their body and I can't jump three times past my own height. I added if I could do the latter I'd have entered the NBA draft and she could decide whether she wanted a Rolls-Royce or a Porsche when I got my signing bonus.

Their job is to make deadline and help maximize their publisher's profits for that quarter.

Dude, he sucks at San Andreas. Maybe that's why he hates it.

I may be opening a big fat can of worms here, but there's one piece of literature/entertainment that has killed millions of people, over hundreds of years, inspired murderers, incited hatred and caused countless conflicts.

That book is called The Bible.

The media, parents and others desperately try and tie any kind of entertainment they can to killings throughout the world on a daily basis, either to absorb themselves from guilt (as in most cases), or in the media's case, sell newspapers.

But noone ever blames The Bible. Yet people openly admit to killing each other because of this 'Holy' text.

Even the President of the United States!

I do... religion = ignorance and intolerance tounge.gif

Can I be a priest in the Anti-Church of Mxyzptlk?

Remember, tax exemptions are better than tax cuts! Take advantage of those faith-based initiatives our fearless president has crammed down our collective throats and enrich yourself! I can do your books and fudge numbers at your will since neither the IRS or SEC can do anything about it. So whaddaya say? Can we have holy sacraments of Maui Wowie brownies and Hawaiian Punch with vodka?

See, the article is right. This game has warped my fragile little mind!

Guns don't kill people, video games kill people! barf8bd.gif

I love my two cats. I love playing San Andreas. Therefore, my cats love playing San Andreas.

One of them keeps trying to pull the damn controller plug out of the PS2, though.

Teenage girls eat lots of chocolate.

Teenage girls are most likely to have acne.

    Therefore, chocolate causes acne.

lol that is quite funny and a good example

A good example of false logic and how games don't cause violence, you mean.

Or, you are referring to your ugly girlfriend... which ever....

There's no need to call her ugly, it isn't her fault she fell out of an ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
