bajajahehehe
I don't have much experience with anything to do with models, so my question is if you can make a specific part of a model (like the sunglasses on a gang member) disappear by only editing the txd and somehow making it transparent. Suction Testicle Man
You can indeed. Using texture workshop, enable a texture's alpha map within a txd. This alpha map will have exactly the same dimensions as the original texture. It is completely greyscale, and the simplest way to imagine it is to picture it as if it were tracing paper. Any area that is white, will make the same part on the texture solid (opaque), and any part that is black will make the corresponding area completely transparent. Shades of grey inbetween will result in partial transparency. Find the texture that the sunglasses use in the gang member's txd, and add a completely black alpha map to it. This is however dependent on whether or not the sunglasses are modelled or textured straight onto the gang member's face. If textured straight on, there won't be anything behind to see once the sunglasses are invisible, and you will end up with a transparent head. Play around and see what you can find. You can download txd workshop here. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated.
fuckindumass
I don't have much experience with anything to do with models, Since you say you don't have much experience, I'll add some detail to STM's direction. I assume you can get ahold of the txd since you already know of txds.... First make an all black texture in your paint program in bmp, tga or png. If you make a bmp in photoshop, make sure you change the format to OS/2 when saving. Just a thought, you might even try just a 1x pixel alpha texture....I don't think you have to match texture sizes. Save it with the same name as the texture you are applying it to, just add an 'a' at the end (example; f*ckindumass texture would use f*ckindumassa alpha texture) Open the txd in TXDWorkshop, and click in the image you wish to add the alpha to, then click on 'properties' and tick the box for 'Alpha is used'. TXDWorkshop automatically puts in the texture name for you, so click on ok, then underneath where the textures are displayed click on 'alpha/mask' then click on 'import' and navigate to your alpha texture, click on open to add it to txd file. Save your txd and you're done. Even if you didn't need these directions, I bet some lurkers do.....
bajajahehehe
Okay, thanks a alot you guys are muy helpful That's basically what I was trying to do, the only mistake i made was not making sure the txd was using an alpha textue. It's working now though, so thanks again.
