My thoughts on claymores and mines:

 

Make them kill teammates, only half the normal point penalty if a TK with them occurs (this provides incentive to not TK, ie, throw them and not give a sh*t if a teammate dies on it), but disable the option to punish for it.

Their use is over the top now that is true, but its nice to actually be able to use them now. AT mines you can use to defend a postion and still drive out of and well claymores are just powerful now. Before the patch there was no way to use'm even if you did place them smartly you'd have team mates run into the things. It's like oh look something red on the ground lets go over and touch it!! Bam tk and PUNISH!

 

If they disabled Punish on them it might work.

 

When ever I tryed to use a claymore always always a teammate would find the damn thing and run into it. Not like I left them in the open I placed them to protect me in different sniper positions. So annoying.

 

Hehe still got punished for a claymore TK couple days ago cause the guy was near and enemy that got blone up.

 

Wonder if people tape down the Page Up button.

Just played some co-op with Kutthroat. Earned my vet pistol, ground defense ribbon, and basic ground defense. Unfortunately, I forgot to set one thing in my goddamn config files and I lost all those goddamn points and badges.

I'm getting some larger co-op games together for the weekend. So far, it looks like Taxman, me, Doody, and Mercie are in. I've also played with Kutt and Em, and one of Doody's friends. There are lag spikes sometimes, but it was generally playable. Australian users probably won't be able to play because of the ping though.

None of that stupid equal to each side's weapons and vehicles. It was still balanced as some kits had different weapon classes on each side and music in vehicles and choosing skins owned all.

I wish they'd just allow custom content, PERIOD. They've already got their directory system very neatly laid out, the only things necessary for new weapons would be skins, models, and animations. And any decent modder could fire all those out in one day. Player skins? Too goddamn easy. Replace one DDS file with another. But noooo, we can't have that because some f*cksmack will make his skins all white or all red so he can HAX. Custom awards? f*ck YOU, YOU CAN'T DO THAT WITHOUT TONS OF MODIFICATION.

 

I love this game and I will play it until something better comes out, but this is like dating a girl with severe emotional imbalances. When its great, it's great, but when its bad, you end up with a broken toe.

 

f*ck that.

 

BF2 has a great engine to build on, though. If they allowed custom skins and models a la Counter-strike, their modding community would definitely explode.

 

edit - Some dude over at the bfeditor forums got the Humvee to play music. Unfortunately, it's offline only. Goddamnits.

They should either make or set up a comp for loads of good skins to be added based off the original models, and just constantly keep adding them and download which one you want to use with a patch including them all in and you just pick out of hundres which you want to use, stupid a huge online game like this and not being able to choose your apearance. At least something like that army orientated, has to be their camo but other than that you can use whatever gear,face,skin color you want on top of that. Knee pads, gloves, all sorts of hats, shades, goggles on, goggles on helmet, goggles on back of helmet, delta force helmets bags different pouches, god it could be so good.

 

And today, f*ck sake.

 

Driving along in a FAV, see a sniper go to run him over, get sniped out JUST before I run him over, it never gave me the kill, and then I get f*cking switched team, and for some reason it gave me -2.

Also, I think DIce could learn a few things from AA's art and coding. Surprisingly, not every class has the same goddamn skin for each soldier. You can have the same skin and be a sniper, grenadier, squad leader, medic, or countersniper.

If you mean the 18C/B/Z soldiers, I dont like them that much, I prefer black equipment over green.

 

But yeah their kneepads and random looks, with goggles on or off or shades on etc.

 

I like those maps as I get my own M4 loadout but still normally those maps arent that good, or people just rape you with grenades.

I had AA, but I quit it, because after a week of it, I had a grand total of 0 kills. And now that it's gone, I'm not gonna bother to reDL it and redo all the training.

As there is only one way to go otherwise you are totally c*nted.

 

But basically you have to CRAWL with snail speed, the distance of say dragon valley on 64 players.

 

Took maybe 45mins to an hour.

 

 

And yeah in that was its sort of like bf2, sometimes its great and sometimes it sucks balls. I only like two maps at the moment, bridge crossing which rules the f*ck out and dusk. But yeah I was just saying how bf2 needs the cool skins and differences between players. Wouldnt be hard to let us only choose, what add ons, like kneepads, gloves, eyewear, headgear, tactical vests, holsters, canteens etc, as that can go onto whatever army skin it needs to without totally taking away the look of that army, as you will still have the same camo and face.

I imagine you wouldn't choose ingame. AA has the M4 mod system where you choose your layout and then save it as one of four sets. Then you choose which set you want ingame.

It doesn't take much resources to load a texture or object into memory. It's not like it loads all possible textures at any given time. It's more than possible, and if I stopped being so lazy I'd create a mod that does it.

Woa... playing on any server but ours really blows now, I was on a few others and it's just full of fags, I would get tk'd for the stupidest of reasons, I swear our server is way more fun.
