Well I got promoted. So thats that. Now another 30000 points till next rank. Thats probably the worst part of the game.

Bah, I've not played BF2 in almost two weeks. I really need to get back into it. I know I'm hardly one to talk, but what is with the server these days? It used to be quite full all the time a few weeks ago.

 

Well, I ain't going to be able to make Friday I'm afraid. Hopefully I'll be able to play on Saturday afternoon, or Sunday though.

I might try and make Friday night. It would be about 3-4 in the morning Saturday for me so I'm not sure what kind of state I will be in but we'll see.

 

I got some new headphones with a mic attached. My brother and I used TS last night during a LAN game of Swat 3. It was a little bit jerky, cutting in and out a bit, but it wasn't too bad.

Right now BF2 is uninstalled from my PC, along with everything else on my system. Recently I did a format and now I've got the bare minimum installed on my PC. I'm installing Windows Media Center tonight, so depending on how that goes hopefully I'll be back on the battlefield sometime tommorow afternoon.

Liam, you should have used the shock paddles or knife to get the last points. How good would it be to say that you got your major rank with a knife?

 

Anyways, I'm off school in about 10-11 days or so and then its BF2 for a bit before and during exams, but after exams I'll be on the server with you guys WAY more often. I'm thinking I might upgrade my net too. Another 20 bucks (we already pay aout 50-60) for 1.5mbps as opposed to 512.

I think 2142 is actually quite cool. Not that much different from bf2, but futuristic. The artillery strikes are brutal as well as titan mode

Everything is installed back onto my PC that I need now, and I've got a nice healthy 94.7GBs worth of free space on my hard drive. I'm just downloading and installing the 1.4 patch, and I'll be back online tommorow, hopefully.

I'm downloading the Demo now, but from the videos I've seen of the game so far, I'm going to be really, really, really, pi$$ed with EA Games... forcing me to go out and buy an extra Gig of RAM, another HDD and a better Graphics Card.... which for my Laptop is gong to be a [email protected]

After months of neglecting BF2, earlier in a 40 minute round I've finally achieved something I've been after for about a year.

You should have found a Knife & Pistol server and played as a medic to get your 40 kills IAR, that's how I've got past the basics first

 

Well I've just played a little on BF2142, and I have to say, it's a little glitchy which is to be expected from a demo, like once the rounds finished the text was all made up of black blocks, I know its futuristic but does that mean we'll all have to learn how to read barcode, it has got potential, but things I don't like are the Silo markers rotate around the screen which is quite decieving, and the outfits for opposing teams are too similar, I killed about 5 folk in the first 10 minutes who were on my side, and some of the controls feel very sluggish and some of the weapons you don't actually feel like you're firing them or that they are doing much. My 0.03p worth.

 

... Also, knowing EA you'll have to wait 15 years until the final decent patch is released for BF2142 to be any good

That's the impression I got from the beta, too. That, and there were too much emphasis on vehicles. I played BF2 with vehicles enabled the other day and it was really pissing me off. I think I'll stick with IO mode for the time being... BF2142 doesn't seem worth it at all.
