changing player character

i have seen in many places that the chacter has been changed to another EG: adtecs police mod, u play as cop

 

i want to change to a BMYPIMP ped... how do i?

 

ive searched the scm, just cant find...

For your ped:

 

 

0247: request_model #BMYPIMP038B: load_requested_models09C7: change_player $PLAYER_CHAR model_to  249

 

 

Simpley find this code:

087B: set_player $PLAYER_CHAR clothes "VEST" "VEST" body_part  0

in the main part of the scm file and go down to this code:

01B4: set_player $PLAYER_CHAR frozen_state  1 (unfrozen) 

before it place your code:

0247: request_model #BMYPIMP038B: load_requested_models09C7: change_player $PLAYER_CHAR model_to  249

That happened to me a little bit in my early research. And I never did figure out how to solve that problem.

i tried going through and finding everywhere that says:

 

 

 

01B4: set_player $PLAYER_CHAR frozen_state  1 (unfrozen)

 

 

 

 

 

and changing it to this:

 

 

 

 

0247: request_model #SWAT  038B: load_requested_models  09C7: change_player $PLAYER_CHAR model_to  285   01B4: set_player $PLAYER_CHAR frozen_state  1 (unfrozen)

 

 

 

but when you die in a certain way or walk through a building, it still screws up the model. In all of those is an instance where the sceen fades black or goes into a transition screen. So i'm thinking if i can find that in the code and put the character code in there between the screen fading and going back ingame, that this problem could be solved. Could anyone tell me that code?

Its a realy CJ monster

It works only for one complete gamestart and don´t visit the wardrobe, clothshop ect.

It´s a VC code

Try redoing the code on a new clean untouched scm. I make mods like these for many people over my msn and i they have never reported this problem before. This usualy occurs when you replace CJ's txd and dff files with diffrent ones (say big smokes. millies, ryders, ect.) that isn't supported by the first play. because CJ gets fat and skin and stats he need seperate body textures.

aha! i figured out the problem!

 

 

 

 

i was using a trainer. if you use a trainer when you play with an edit like this, exit it after pressing the hotkeys. it fixed the problem with me.

i figured it out, though. I had replaced a few files in player.img with my Stealth Gangsta ones. I replaced player.img with a fresh one and it worked. blush.gif

Yeah, well you are all in your rights to ask for that. If it's your code then permission is needed for the use of it on forums or for public viewing.

 

Also it is not what this topic is about, this topic is about how to start a new game playing as a diffrent player. Not changing the players model during the game.

No, nothing like. Go get the III builder, decompile the code and READ IT! See how they spawn the player, why would it be the same when you don't have different clothes etc?

This is caused because that is a cutscene, the cutscene and controllable CJ are both diffrent models. This code will only work with the second one, not the first one. There are only two ways to fix it but there not easy or very logical ways:

 

You can edit the chosen model to look like CJ's model. Which is very very difficult, unless you have alot of knowledge in 3ds Max or GMax.

 

Or you can create the San Andreas main.scm file all over again, this will stop the game from loading the cutscene CJ before cutscene's and replays. More recomended if your not interested in the game, just the player's model. but it will mean you will have to script all extras and stuff again to stop the game from loading CJ's cutscene model.

What? That made no sense at all. The cutscene model is controlled by the cutscene file which is hard to edit. The easiest way to do it is simply rename the new file player.dff.

crap, i did it again. I post late at night when i really shouldn't post. Thanks for the heads up Y_Less. One thing though, what do you mean rename the new file to player.dff. CJ has several dff's relating to him because his body can change.
