Winning the diablo race.

You know take the cheetah parked out side in "chauffeur" or what ever(the mission were you take Maria to a party in Atlantic quays) take that cheetah and stash it in your garage then finish that mission, after that then do El burro's "turismo" mission get your cheetah off your garage and go to the start grid the cheetah has perfect handling and speed and increases your chances of winning the race if you can drive well.

I always rely on that same Cheetah as a backup to do the Portland UJ's if I can't snag one during Firefighter/Vigilante.

 

For Turismo, I actually prefer a Patriot. You don't need to stop at the grid to start the race. While racing by them, bump one. You're already at a head start. The Patriot speaks for itself and if you DO make mistakes and they catch up, you can shove them off the road without them disrupting you much at all.

You really use a Patriot? You say they catch up and you can shove them but when they catch up don't they just speed off?

I didn't say they catch up. I say if YOU make a mistake and they catch up, you speed off. If this was a straight track, a Cheetah might blow you away, but it's not. A Patriot's 4 way soft suspension will take any curve better than a Cheetah, allowing for you to make more accurate turns. Plus if you were to ram a light post while trying to avoid traffic, the Patriot's flat front end just plows through it. But a Cheetah would be sent spinning.

 

And what's this truce stuff? I'm not at war with anybody active on these boards

I always park a Coach in front of thier cars and speed off while they take turns ramming the Bus. If I race fair I use the Diablo Stallian.

A little trick to who wants to play dirty:

 

Stop your car before the marker, do not stop at the marker. Leave your car, and approach the other racers'. Try to enter their vehicle by the passenger side. Do this to each car. Pity, they're locked. Those are fine cars. But now, enter your car, stop at the blue marker and race. The other cars will be extra slow.

Way before your time and you clearly don't know the facts...

 

I used the banshee the first time through.... infernus or cheetah to improve times-- winning is not a problem-- getting a record time is-- is a really tough street race to master.

 

Its possible to collect one of your opponents cheetah-- which happens to be bullet proof-- I've only done it using the spawn tank cheat method but you can supposedly get it without cheats but its supposed to be fairly difficult.

 

I've never tried "that" cheetah-- probably make that race alot easier...

Yep. And you saying that reveals that you don't believe it. You believe what you want. I said what I said. If you look at the DATE of that post, you'd see that even if I was wrong (like who would know better than me who I'M at war with), they're not comparable. I used a Diablo and passed that mission easily. When the race began, I just sped in front of them and they all smashed into each other and various other vehicles that were on the road. I sucessfully made it out of the banged up heap and cut the second corner and within 10 seconds of the race, I was miles a head of them.

You can - I did it once. Also, those cheetahs are supposed to be not only bullet proof but also fire proof and explosion proof, but you can still blow them up with grenades - I think the explosion proof bit relates to them being unable to blow up as a result of damage (the damage still shows, but the car won't flame and explode, unless you flip it).

 

Anyhow, if you want to get one, it's not too hard, but quite long and very annoying if you accidentally stuff up. I think (I did this ages ago) I parked a coach in front of the cars, and then threw blew it up, making the other cheetahs (that you race against) blow up. Then, I used a Patriot and pushed one of the cheetahs back to my garage where it repairs itself - this isn't that difficult, but you can stuff up if you don't concentrate. The blown up cheetah will stay in front of you as long as you look at it.

 

And, if you want to pass the mission, it's imperative that you destroy all the cheetahs - once you've got your prize, you can go back and finish the race!

 

That's one way to do it. Another way is to do it in the RealGTA3 mod - they become Porsche Carrera GT's and crash and flip on the first corner! That's my most inventive ways of doing it, but I actually found that mission tough to beat originally - now I just like to race it. And I don't always win!

I struggled to do Turismo first time, so I went and did all other available missions first...however, now, I've completed turismo, but I can't get any further

 

I've done it 3 times using a tank to blow the other cars up and then dawdle round the race....and I've won it in a police car aswell

 

What the f*** can i do?!

man all I did was use a banshee...I always found it was harder to do in a a cheetah for some reason.

Each phone allows you to redo the timed mission in an attempt to beat your best time. If you're completing it a 2nd time, it won't do anything but possibly update your stats. And of course net you another X-proof Cheetah.

you could also do the trick of getting the bulletproof cheetah in turismo,store it then do the race in that. useful if gangs are shooting at you particularly the mafia

In Portland,I prefer the Mafia gang car,its speed and drift are almost balance!!

Just use a tank from the very beginning then later if you want to improve your time, use a cheetah.
