Kaj.
Recently DiVaio made a couple of sigs for me, and they sort of gave me a template for this combo. What do you guys think of them? And what could I do to improve upon them. *I know the avatar is kind of blurry. I downsized it from a 1024x768 wallpaper, and it sort of diminished in quality. ExcuseMe
I quite like it. It's a nice, eye catching combo. Although, IMO the sig is a bit too big in height, but that's just my preferences. Also, the text is cool, but is not very appealing to me. The avatar, as you said, is quite blurry, but it adds a nice touch to it. Over all, a nice combo. Kaj.
Thanks for your comments. About the text, I was trying to go for the Ferrari font. I have the actual font installed, but when I make it that small, it's impossible to read, so I decided to draw it my hand. And I agree that the sig is a bit tall, but it'd look worse if I made it wider, plus if I shortened it, it'd be too small for my liking.
matt27689
I don't like the font at all, and maybe try it with the border only 1 pixel for each colour. Nice though. Good work
Knife
It looks very good but I agree that the font could do with changing Still looks nice tho.
Kaj.
Well, seeing as a few people don't particularly like the font, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to what would look better?
Mike_Toreno
I like the design and such, but it's not my style. It's good for anyone who likes that sort of thing. I'm not saying it's bad, it's quite good actually. But I don't like the text as everyone else has said. Change the text and it'll look better. - Mike
Kaj.
Ok, I've sort of got a new sig in the making. It's the same photo, but a different shape, kinda. So, I've got a tech-esque style going here, but I'm sort of stuck. I want the right side to keep the style of the left side, without whoring it out. Also, since the homemade font in the other one wasn't very liked, what should I be going for? And placement is an issue for me, I was thinking the text could go at the bottom center, would that look good? And I was thinking of adding a Ferrari logo (50% transparent) but not sure how it would look. And about a border, I want something nice, without being too plain. I'm asking many questions, and even if you can only answer 1 or 2, it'd be very appreciated. *Note: I'm not sure if this would be the proper forum to ask, or if it'd go into the Requests and Tutorials forum, but I put it here so I wouldn't have to make another topic. Guybrush Threepwood
If you keep the bottom-center/bottom-right as it is, you've got enough space to write a name, and it'll stick out. Maybe curve the most right edge a little so it doesn't look like you stuck it on. Then just continue the border from there around the top. I don't know if I'm clear like this, maybe later I'll draw some lines on your picture to show it. Lastly, you can post WIP's in here just fine. This is kind of what I mean. Not to follow the exact line I drew there, but anything to the right of it, is just excess black. DiVaio
On your current sig, it will probably look better if you made the cutouts on the corners a bit smalller. On the new one, if you want the right side to be the same, do like you did in the previous sig with the right bottom corner, cut a piece off it. Not too big, though. For a font I would pick a simple pixel font, nothing too noticable. And finally, I wouldn't add a ferrari logo in the back, 'cause I kind of like the car standing out of the background. Kaj.
Thanks for the tips guys, I'm working on it right now. Now for the border, I was thinking just a simple 1px white. I'll finish it up and post it later, to see what you think. There it is. I added the colours of the Italian flag (which is on the Ferrari logo) beside the name, I think it looks nice. I didn't really want to leave that space empty, and I couldn't find something else that looked nice. Edited January 10, 2006 by <-Kajun->

But one thing... again, I can't say I'm to keen on the font, it doesn't stand out and is small in my opinion, a tad blurred too. But, that point aside, it looks like you did a good job, well done. Kaj.
Thanks Mike. I'm not sure what's up with the text. In the program I use (The GIMP) it looks perfect, no blur, nothing bad. But then when I upload it, it gets all crappy. I think it's Imageshack that's killing it. I don't know what else it could be.
Guybrush Threepwood
Maybe try a different host and see if the same thing happens. It's really good, simple border, and the font is a good choice (minus the blur, of course). My only comment would be for you to change the top-right corner. I'm wondering if it looks better if you cut that corner like the top-left one.
Kaj.
I used a different host, and it worked fine. And I'll try and change the corner later when I get home from school.
king surfer
That's really nice. I like the minmalistic approach. Perhaps you could do to the top right corner what you did to the bottom left? And then perhaps chop the corner also? I think that would look pretty hot.
Kaj.
Yeah, I tried doing something with that corner, but I couldn't get anything I liked. I think I just may have to leave it unaltered.
Guybrush Threepwood
That's OK. It looks very good nonetheless You could also try experimenting with backgrounds, go crazy/wild/batsh*t insane on it. It's a nice piece to try some backgrounds on, and it never hurts to train yourself in it
Technical Difficulty
Make it like SWEETSAPRIK's sig and make - as Guybrush said - different backgrounds then slap a rotator on. I must say I like the shape, just not the car - Party on Garth
