Pierce Brosnan
I've done some more art that I thought I'd show here.. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/27287587/ http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/27277277/ http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/26225609/ Wallpapers http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/27155020/ http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/26926098/ http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/26313490/ These wallpapers were inspired by the work of KoL from StudioTwentyEight. http://www.studiotwentyeight.com/ I asked him If I could use the photo he uses in his wallpapers, he sent me the image and I was able to make wallpapers my own kind. Green grass and the blue sky. I got so many downloads for them as you can see on the pages above. NEW: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/27460219/ Please send comments and how I can improve on my art in the future. DiVaio
I can't say that I like 'em all, but you've made some descent work there, PB. I especially like the picture that you took, nice angel you took it in. My favorite manipulation is Field of Dreams, the other two didn't really impress me. I agree the last two wallpapers ("Inspire" and "Fantasy World") were not the best, but it was my first go at it.
ExcuseMe
I quite like the first vector, and that photograph of the building and sky. The rest is pretty awsome aswell. Nice work!
uNi
I liked "Fruit Salad", "Docklands", nice works.
gkl
About your logo I think that it looks crap because it lacks personality and just has a generic, boring and noobish feeling in it. The font doesn't look particulary good, the squares have rounded corners although the text itself has them pointy. Squares aren't even aligned with the text, which imo would make the logo look at least a bit better. Don't really know about the text placement either, but I'm not really good with handling it , so I'll better won't say anything. I don't know wether you should use just a simple/stock font (I assume you used a font) for your logo, which anybody can download off a website. Maybe try to modify it in some ways. It is your own logo after all, it should be unique. At the moment it is not. I suggest you to visit some professional design sites and maybe try to learn a bit from the really good guys out there. Studying other (good) work helps quite a lot.
Mayhem-
The logo doesn't deserve to be posted here, and the last 2 backgrounds are nothing special. But I love the other 3.
ExcuseMe
I don't see what's worng with the logo. It looks very proffesional IMHO. It's a very simple, yet extremely effective logo.

Very professional? How can you not get what's wrong with it after everything gkl listed...? If it was "extremely effective", I would get some idea of what he designs from the logo. As far as I can tell, he can make squares...
ExcuseMe
Not all good logos explain what the company does. There's a lot of amazing logos out there (some of the best) that don't exactly explain what the logo does, just produces it's name in a fashionable way. gkl
Yes, you are right, but the thing is, his logo doesn't look very fashionable at all. Edited January 8, 2006 by gkl

There's a lot of amazing logos out there (some of the best) that don't exactly explain what the logo does, just produces it's name in a fashionable way. Even though gkl covered it exactly, I'll carry this on a bit myself. Yeah, you're spot on. But as gkl said, it's not fashionable, nor is it amazing. Some logos tell you what the company is or does, others cause the intrigue that makes you want to find out what the do/produce and others just have to look damn good as people know what the company is already. Hence not letting down the reputation of the company. I've probably gone a bit too far into this, so I'll stop. But if his logo was on a page of logos, I'd ignore it. Pierce Brosnan
That's fine, I wasn't trying to make it look fantastic. Just a logo. But your right, it could be heaps better. I'll think about re-designing it with a new font/logo image/ ect...

gkl
So, it does look better than your previous one You used a single linear gradient on the text. In my opinion it would look better if you didn't use only one, as it could interfere too much with the background. Maybe add some more gradients, glossiness, maybe a border. Using only a single gradient like this, could make the text look crap on, for example, a green background, although it looks decent on a, lets say, pink one. The arrow looks a bit wrong, it would look better if you didn't make its beginning (or the end?) facing so straight downwards - that makes it look noobish. The logo does look simple but it's far from effective or beautiful. Originality is quite important too (although imo not that important though) and I fail noticing one here. Conclusion: work on it Edited January 9, 2006 by gkl
ExcuseMe
Nice logo. Although, as gkl said, it could use a bit of work. It would be better if the end of the arrow was parallel with the rest of the arrow.
king surfer
Well Pierce you've improved. Although your work still seems not to have taken much time or thought though.

Tsuroki
You're getting honest critiques from gkl... good show. Although the Pierce Brosnan name makes me want to punch you in the face, repeatedly, I have to admit that you certainly have good stuff there. Personal fav: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/27277277/ 27722772727272777272727272727277272777 ftw.
Guybrush Threepwood
Guybrush_Threepwood kicks tsuroki in the face There we go, problem solved. Come to think of it, I'd probably respect his work more if he was under a different name and I didn't know it was him. Now when I see that name, I can't help but feel a slight bit of old hatred brewing. But, on the subject of the art, it's not bad really. I'm not going to repeat half the comments here, but take gkl's comments to learn from.
Pierce Brosnan
Thanks for the comments. To be honest, I hate my username as well. So old, so awful, makes me want to burn it with fire. If I had the chance i'd change to my other username "Aukon" or something. Anyway, here's a preview of my last wallpaper for a while. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c109/Aukon/lm.jpg I'll finish it when I get back from my holiday at the end of the month. Why does it always have to be the face?!

It does look alot like that windows Bliss wallpaper style (blue sky, green grass ect...) but i'm not trying to make it seem like if it was a fanmade version of it. I've always liked these kind of views with the field of grass and the nice sky that passes by. It's not done yet, i'm thinking about adding hot air balloons in sky somewhere and maybe a dirt road. I'm still planing what to do with it.
