Jack_Knife
Okay, refer to this topic: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=224903 for background information and the problem. I still haven't got it fixed, due to being poor and lazy. But today I got bored and had another look at it. Crank it on, and BAM! POST code 26 again. After a bit of playing I proceed to give up again, and resolve to take it into a computer shop tomorrow. I then head to SA for a larf. I see some guy's avatar which rotates through 1-F, on the same style of display that is on my mobo. And it hits me like a slippery fish: my mobo isn't giving POST code 26, it's giving POST code 2B. I got hexadecimally owned. After realise my stupidity, I look this up. It says "Invoke video bios," which, after some research, is apparently the video card's bios. I take out the video card (why I never tried doing this before, I don't know) and turn it on. Rips straight past 2B, and onto almost completely POST-ing. Of course the lack of everything being connected stops it (no drives, no video card, no nothing on the mobo really, lol). So, yeah, I guess my video card is f*cked. Or am I just being an idiot again? It seems the logical problem, though. And no, I don't have any other PCI-E systems to test it out in. I think I'll take it into a store tomorrow and get them to tell me if it's the card or not. Anyway, opinions? Cran.
Sounds like your video BIOS got f*cked. If you're feeling heroric, you could attempt to re-flash the BIOS. What videocard do you have?
Jack_Knife
It's a Leadtek Winfast PX6600TD Nvidia Geforce 6600 256MB PCI-E. And how would I go about flashing it's BIOS? Don't I need to at least have the computer running to be able to do that? Cran.
Well, you have to run a flash program or something.. and boot from it and run it. Maybe just take it to the computer shop and see what they say. Flashing your BIOS can be very risky.
Jack_Knife
I can't boot at all (read the other topic?), so I can't flash it anyway. I'm gonna take the video card in tomorrow and get them to test it.
