raghavradhakrishnan
Hi, I have a problem with this mission. And it is so frustrating.. am stuck in the game and can't proceed any further.. by the time I get the crates loaded on to the truck, Ryder always gets killed. Sometimes, I try and help him by loading 2 crates and then getting down and shooting at the guards, but he still does get killed.. is there ANY way at all? Please help.. would really appreciate it! Thanks, Raghav.
Mike_Toreno
You could upload your save game and get one of us to have a shot at it... - Mike
JAJ
Climb into the compound and don't shoot the gate open for Ryder until you have the crates stacked up outside near where the truck parks. When the crates are all there, then let the truck in and load them up. Get off the lift truck when you hear shooting and take care of the soldiers attacking Ryder then load some more. This should help. Good luck. If you still find that you can't do, post it and someone will do it for you.

Thanks, Raghav. As soon as you hear any gunfire, stop the forklift, go shoot the soldier(s), then start loading the crates again. Also, I do the mission in a specific order: Hop the wall and shoot all the guards outside. Ignore the gate and instead head over to the warehouse Shoot the warehouse lock then pop the two guards inside. Get in the forklift and move all 4 crates from the back of the warehouse and leave them lined up at the front door. Also go get the 2 crates outside and line them up at the warehouse door with the rest. If any more soldiers have shown up, kill them. Then, and only then, shoot the lock off the front gate to let Ryder in. Start loading the crates, pausing as necessary to shoot any soldiers who mess with Ryder. When crates are loaded, hop in the truck and head to Emmet's place. Using this method, Ryder has never come anywhere close to dying when I play. You can probably search this forum for "Uncle" and come up with other strategies if that doesn't work for you. EDIT: Looks like I'm a bit slow on the keyboard. gillies
The thing is, as you may find out a little later, your Grove St. homies (Big Smoke, Ryder, Sweet) are useless shots and in missions that they have to survive you have to protect them or they will die easily. Whenver you hear shooting during this mission you *have* to get out of the forklift and kill the army guy (you will probably have to do this three or four times before you get all the crates loaded), because Ryder will fail to connect with 90% of his shots even when the enemy is standing right in front of him, and even though these enemies are almost as useless and they only carry pistols - Ryder's health will reduce faster than you expect.
