Both my psp and my flash drive are no longer reconized. And i know for a fact drivers are installed for both of them. Well anyway i run windows xp with sp2. Heres what happens when i plug something in. Then it goes. The finally. Also the troublshooter dosnt help at all. Any advice? Thanks in advance. Kaj.
You said you know that there are drivers installed for them both. Are the drivers up-to-date? And did you install any new programs before your USB ports went to sh*t? You need to be more specific. The screens help a bit, but people are going to need specifics to help identify your problem. Kaj.
Everest Home Edition should tell you almost everthing about your computer. Hmm, it seems that they've discontinued it. You don't really need it for that long. Download one of the 30 day trials for Ultimate or Corporate Edition. Lavalys - Makers of Everest

I'm just lazy, but yeah, use the link Bond posted. It gives you the free Everest that isn't a trial.
PsychoFlames
Try opening Device Manager (Right click My Computer > Properties, Hardware tab, Device Manager), expanding "Universal Serial Bus controllers", and deleting all instances of "USB Root Hub". After doing so, reboot, and Windows should first recognize the USB Root Hub and then devices connected to it. If that doesn't work, I'm still pretty sure the problem is within Windows (or a defect with the USB device inside your PC).

Knife
I had this exact problem, I solved it by disabling a new firewire card I had and then I put a flsh drive in and told windows to reinstall the driver for it and it worked.
