matthew1g
this has been happening foer the last month or so and now it's getting on my nerves: when I start the pc, it loads till the logon screen, then when I choose the account the pc makes a strange noise like someone rubbing a find sandpaper. This noise keeps going on for about 5-10 minutes and I can do nothing while the noise is on. If I do the pc goes nuts and I have to reboot again. then after letting the sound stop I can work normally with this strange sound going on with no major lags. But when I have like 3 ie windows open and msn messenger I get major lags and the strange sound again. ALso this mostly happens when playing nfs mw too. causing the game to drop down to 1-2 fps, when the normal fps is 25-30. why is this happening? What can I do to stop it? maws
Sounds like your hard drive could be on the verge of failing. Download this and run a test. If it says it's damaged or failing in any way, backup your data immediately and buy a new hard drive.

Opius
Either burn it, or mount with an emulation program like Daemon Tools. (Keep an eye out, Daemon Tools will try to install adware unless you tell it not to.)
