help with img tool?

ok im startin to get tired of usin this program i mean ive downloaded mods and used the readme like for example

 

one mod i have says you open up gta3.img with imgtool well i do that and then i find whatever it says to replace and i click on the file and then right click and hit replace well i get done doin that with all the crap i needed to replace and get in the game well the mod doesnt work and it seems to do this with every mod i download that needs img tool so is there somethin im not doin or somethin im doin wrong

 

 

 

ill try to get a better example i think im gonna download a mod i know that isnt gonna work and use img tool and tell how i did it on here and see if anyone can tell me what im doin wrong

 

 

ok im back with a better example and oh ya i have the second edition if that makes any difference

 

this is for the glock 17 weapon mod

 

ok i went to models after i opened up imgtool and opened gta3.img and then right clicked on colt45.txd then i clicked on replace and then i clicked on colt45.txd in the glock 17 folder and hit open then i clicked on colt45.dff and right clicked it and clicked on replace and then i clicked on colt45.dff in the glock 17 folder then i went to file and exit and when i was in the game it was like i didnt install the mod at all

Is the glock model named colt45.dff? Same goes for the texture... They have to have the same names as what they replace.

 

Also try searching the archive for multiple colt45 entries, possibly 2 texture dictionaries or models. Otherwise it may be a flawed model.

 

Also, make certain you are opening the GTASA Gta3.img and not the GTA3 gta3.img...

well lets see i dont even have gta 3 so ya thats not the problem and if i remember right there's only 1 colt45.txd and stuff in there so that aint the problem

i only read with all atention, and i saw that u said u have the second edition...I think u mean the version 2 of gtasa

if is that, then that's the reason! that's why u can't do anything to the game! the version 2.0 is UNMODABLE

thats what i figured i couldnt mod it anyway and i cant exchange it cuz the box is already opened(but i was thinkin about just shrink rappin it back up and sayin i never opened it)
