johnk
Ok, so they're not game-breaking, but they are annoying glitches nevertheless. First of all, when I look at a car from a distance, there's these sort of vibrating black lines on it, it's messed up...second, in some neighborhoods, THE FREAKING ROAD LINES JUST DISAPPEAR!!! Well, they don't "disappear", I mean the yellow line just cuts off, it was never there in the first place.... Lastly, when I rotate the camera to a sort of overhead view, the ground turns grey! I mean, cars and people and myself are still normal, but everything else turns a grey color (I posted pics). Vibrating Lines Glitch: Road Lines Glitch: Grey Road Glitch: (Sorry, the pictures are kinda small, so the first one with the vibrating lines is a bit hard to make out.) I don't know what the problem is....I updated my graphic card drivers, but I didn't update sound card... I doubt that has anything to do with it, right? I'm not having any sound problems. So anyway, can anybody help me? If someone is having (or had) the same problems, can you tell me what you did to fix it? It would be much appreciated. ArturP
Change monitor refreshing frequency. To do it go to Control Panel -> Screen -> Settings -> Advanced Options -> Monitor. There you can change it, so set the highest frequency.
Plaka
In the Game Options/Display Settings/Advanced ... increase Draw Distance
johnk
Draw distance is already at max, monitor refresh rate at max (which is 70, kinda weird because it says the bare minimum is 100...). Still experiencing same bugs.
ArturP
So set graphic to the lowest level.
gta_rodney
if you are playing in 16 bits , turn it to 32 .
spaceeinstein
Everything in there looks normal to me. The "vibrating lines" might be because of low resolution. I see nothing wrong in the "road lines" picture. The "gray roads" happens naturally in Los Santos if you point the camera down. No fix for that. johnk
What?? How is the road-lines one not a glitch? The yellow line just cuts off! I have the same problem in Liberty City Stories, though.. And for the vibrating lines one, I already have maximum resolution on my monitor, so I don't think that's the problem.. johnk
Guys, I still need some help with this...
spaceeinstein
In real life, it is normal for construction crews to end the divider abruptly like that. I see that in certain places in real life. There is nothing wrong with that.
johnk
Hmm...does the road end like this in the same place in your game? That way, I'll be able to tell for sure if it's a glitch or not... Also, one other problem. In the badlands, the sky sort of flashes between alternating shades of blue..anyone know what might be causing this? johnk
How am I being too picky? If there are glitches, the game is not running like it should be...besides, it was 100% glitch free before but since I reinstalled it I'm encountering all sorts of crap that wasn't there before, so the game isn't running properly...how is that being picky? Mike0
ok your not picky. but i dont know how to help.post your specs
johnk
Alright, specs: Pentium 4 3.6 GHz ATI Radeon X800 (Catalyst 6.1 drivers) 1 Gig Ram etc... My computer should have absolutely no problem with the game, and that's the thing...When I bought it, I installed the Catalyst drivers that came with it (4.6 I think). The game had basically no graphical glitches, but it did lag at regular intervals quite frequently, and there were some sound issues.... Anyway, I didn't play the game for 2-3 months, and when I reinstalled it again, I had the version 5 series Catalyst drivers... I just installed 6.1, and the problems seem to have gotten worse. Most of the grass in San Fierro changes to a sort of neon-ish green color and then back to normal right in front of my eyes. On the Map screen, there's some sort of messed up flashing colors in the corners of the screen when I'm looking at the map... All sorts of other things.. The thing is, I don't want to downgrade my drivers because with the new ones I have absolutely no lag and the game actually looks better than it did with the 4.6 one...is there any other way to fix this? I think it might have something to do with the Catalyst Control Center settings. I screwed around with that about to see if it affects the game in anyway, and some of the settings made it so laggy it was basically unplayable. Either way, I think it's my drivers...any advice?
