Crazy Spas Posted January 3, 2006 Share Posted January 3, 2006 Hi when I try to apply the 1.01 patch it tells me: Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since filoe contents do not match. Also I cant figure out how to find out which version of the game I have. I think its the european/australian version. Any help would be great. Well, since there are only three versions, try each of the three region patches and see if one of them works. And whichever one does, that's the version of the game you have. One obvious note, the patch must be applied to the original version 1 exe; if you happen to have a no-cd crack or other exe modification it'll fail. (my games in english). It may be legit but if you are using a no-cd crack for ease of use, ie. not needing the disc so you keep it in good condition then the patch won't work. Start the game and look in the lower-right corner of the main menu screen to ensure that you do actually have version 1.00 (there will be no version number for 1.00; 1.01 and 2.00 would have a number). Also, verify that you have the official Rockstar patch by downloading it from http://nomorehotcoffee.com/. Assuming the problem still exists after that, you'll probably have to try your luck with Technical Support. The link for support given on the nomorehotcoffee.com webpage is this.
