View control help?

PC version.

I use the closer of the "behind vehicle" view.

I'm constantly frustrated at the "low-ness" of this view. You can't see in front of you cresting hills, on downgrades etc.

I can shove the joystick forward to raise the view temporarily but can't drive while holding the stick forward very well. The Numpad 8 key also performs this task but I don't have a third hand!

I guess there's no way to set/lock this view?

Here's a weirdie - my stick's throttle control causes the view to spin if not set neutral, or causes hydraulic equiped cars to pop up on one side!
