Honestly, I agree with you. Or at least the "who f*cking cares" part. I mean, a rapper gets shot and then he goes off and makes a track about it, then gets a million interviews about it and finally gets recognized, not for their music, but for the bullet wound. Its like this, you get shot and suddenly you get recognized for that and it becomes a HUGE thing. Know what I'm trying to say?

Okay, so what this has come down to is...

 

Obie Trice's life is now unimportant because he made a couple downright horrible songs?

Anyways, I just am tired of this 'rap game' bullsh*t, these little fights between self-proclaimed lyricists. It gets old, quickly. They could put these f*ckers in a soap opera, and 60 year old retired women would dig it, with all the drama it entails.

 

A question for all you that love this genre of music... (I, myself, was turned off of it a couple of years ago, because of things such as this), does this drama make the rappers music better? You say you are entertained by Obie Trice...is it because of the uniqueness of his music, or is it because he is one 'hard ass mofo' who has to worry about constantly being fired at, stabbed, or where his next arrest is coming from.

 

 

 

 

My guess is you like his music for some other reason than the outside bullsh*t I'm calling it out to be. So therefore, why is all this needed? I know MTV and BET love reporting about this stuff, and I'm sure some other media sources as well, but come on now, I never saw Sammy Hagar and Van Halen throw down diss tracks on David Lee Roth. I never heard about how many Hummers Stevie Nix has these days. Don't even know how many times Prince got shot in order to turn him into the str8 thug nigga he is now.

 

Point is...it should be about the music. These artists (most of them) have a unique talent, no matter what kind of music it is. We are entertained by the fact that they can do so much with their voices, instruments, synthesizers, etc..And every single band or singer manages to do it in their own way.

 

The side stories do nothing for me. The beef does nothing for me. And I don't see, even if this stuff continues to happen in da streeeeetzzz, why it should get press time.
