Muffins
I just wanted to know how to soft mod my old Xbox, does it require a mod chip or a program, if a program how do I get it on my Xbox, I want to run EvoX. My console is NTSC
just another thug
This is a lengthy process. First, you need to look at your xbox's settings and see what version of Dashboard your are running and what version of Kernel you have. It would be much easier to say after you report back with those numbers.
_-playero-_
Hey look I found this! Click And this! oh, and this... And well... This should cover any doubt you may have... Thing I never knew was if so you could use a Audio Exploit to play backups Live!, since its said that you wouldn't be banned from Live! with this exploit. Muffins
the 4th one is awsome but I have no soldering iron and conneting cable ethier just a eithernet cable . I don't have any of the other games ethier , I'll post kernel & dashboard versions in a minute. Kernel: 1.00.5838.01 Dashboard: 1.00.5960.01 Edited January 3, 2006 by muffins
just another thug
The Kernel and Dash are to high to softmod. You have to install a modchip. I ran into the same thing. I modded a USB port to my xbox and used a thumbdrive to put a Linux install on the Harddrive, only to find that my dash was to high to run it. You should have no problem installing one of those. Or if you can solder try a TSOP flash.
just another thug
I would reccomend the Xecuter 3. I had no problems with it. The solderless adapter is nice, but I ended up soldering in the end.

Sillyhed2000
This thread got me looking into it and I've decided that I'd like to give it a shot. I've spent a few hours reading through documentation and such of the different exploits etc, but I was wondering if there was anyone on these forums who had experience in the matter. _-playero-_
@muffins: You can actually softmod your xbox, in case you still want to. @Sillyhead: Well, we need more info about your xbox, and if it isn't modded you will probably need to hotswap, but it is worth the trouble. Opius
My store's had nothing but problems with Xecutor3's. We're still using Xecutor2's and custom BIOS's, and we've never had any problems. Besides, 99% of people aren't going to use the extra features of the X3 chips; they just want an easy way around code signing.

Nah, I don't need to. I was planning on using the Splinter Cell savegame exploit to get FTP access and run Krayzie's Ndure installer. However, the prick I was buying appropriate cables off of via eBay didn't make his account details available to the buyer, and won't respond to any of my emails. I'm going to mark him so far down he'll be kissing my ass.
_-playero-_
Try AID 2.1 or SID 4, they are great, and with AID you can install a bunch of programs and emulators.
