humancorpse
Correct me if im wrong, but in the mission for Savatore where you are to meet up with some drug dealers, you kill Miguel, the guy from gta 3! I just found this very odd, as he was alive three years later in GTA 3.

humancorpse
Yeah true, but it really does look like him, and that he is a drug dealer for the colombians make me think this even more.
EthanNelson
there can be 2 columbian drug dealers named miguel who look somewhat alike
begabamboo
I just don't get why the topic creator called it a glitch?
thegloaming
I just don't get why the topic creator called it a glitch? It's more of a glitch in the storyline, which is actually a plot hole. I guess they forgot to make him safe from you. You dont have to kill him if you dont want to,so if there was a mission when you were supposed to kill him, then yes that would be a real plot hole. I just drove away and kept him alive because they cops were on to me. I assume they wanted everyone to do that too and forget about him. I suppose he might have been saved by an ambulance.. like wat happens to peds. But I doubt very very much that it's different people. It can't be. It's a computer game, everything happens for a reason, they wouldnt invent a giant coincident in the story line like that... killian
i guess, technically, killing him will cause a time paradox for the whole gta series well at least it should
thegloaming
i guess, technically, killing him will cause a time paradox for the whole gta series well at least it should You'd have to go back in time, and stop Toni from killing him, otherwize the universe would collapse on itself! Ah...I've been watching too much Back To The Future.
CarpetDweller
This has been brought up many times before and people always say that "You don't have to kill him". I thought I'd put it to the test. [i think this topic is beyond spoilers now, but don't read on unless you want to know the details of the mission] My findings - There are 3 stages to the mission "Contra-Banned": 1 - Pickup 3 Leone guys. 2 - "Kill the drug dealers". 3 - Take the Drug dealers's Patriot to Sal's garage. For stage 1 - You have to pick the guys up in order for the stage 2 start marker to appear. However you can kill them all long before you get there without this affecting the mission. For stage 2 - "Kill the drug dealers" refers to the 3 columbians. You can leave the others alive but, unless you kill the 2 cartel gang peds AND Miguel, you will not get the prompt to drive the Patriot away. Not only this - but the Patriot is locked until they are dead. For Stage 3 - Once the Patriot is unlocked it can be driven to Sal's garage. Getting it to the garage is what causes you to pass the mission. Destroying the patriot will fail the mission. --- From this I deduce that you MUST KILL MIGUEL in order to pass the mission and proceed with the game. • In my experience you can't pass the mission without putting the patriot in the garage. • You can't get it to the garage without driving it. • You can't drive it without unlocking it. • You cant unlock it without killing ALL THREE Columbians - INCLUDING MIGUEL. ------ I'm sure that it is the same Miguel because in the early pre-release screens of this mission Miguel looked exactly like his GTA3 version. ----- It seems like extremely bad planning. Miguel's appearance is surely only contrived to have a cameo from a previous game. There's no other point to this mission really. Why would they then forget that they can't kill him off? I think it's just someone got there continuity mixed up. I have been unable to complete this mission without leaving Miguel lying in a pool of blood. If you can, please give details. Maybe he faked his death?!
Mxyzptlk
Maybe he faked his death?! He just respawns at the hospital with no weapons and -$1000, then he waits around for Claude in GTA3.
Noru
this one was made by rockstar leeds so maybe they did'nt know that miguel was in Gta 3 and dies in gta3
Xanarki
So what? Rockstar was still there to supervise the storyline. I guess they didn't spot this 1.
metzeoshi
I think that ' Maybe he faked his death?!' is the best theory : / Or R* will explain it in new GTA.

kingvercetti
Could this be Rockstar's first ever plothole? I do remember something about having to kill all the gang members or something, but I accidentally skipped that cutscene, and, AFAIK they were killed in Police crossfire. Besides, I haven't played GTA3 for that long I can't even remember who Miguel is. To be honest, you could just cast it off that Miguel wasn't actually dead and just incredibly seriously injured to give the player the idea that he was dead 0_o. But it does seem strange that Rockstar would do that. If it was unintentional, wouldn't they just create a completely new character you had to kill? The plot thickens... humancorpse
Miguel was probably just supposed to disappear after the cut scene or something. I don`t really see why they would make you injure him badly without even using it in the story.
DEED
I didn't have to kill him ...well when the cops came there was some sort of glitch and one of the cops went skidding and wiped out the lot of 'em so he did end up dieing I spose
chimpsch89
maybe an ambulance came and saved him? i can't see why rockstar would think this deeply into a minor character so i think its a plothole

thegloaming
Maybe R* will put him in the next Portable GTA to show he survived? Could do, but the problem with that is, you dont have to kill him in LSC, you could just drive away.
