Mainland Marauder
Be careful JCC, Lars Ulrich might smash his snare drum across your head if he reads that! Bryce.
Mac, if you want, I can download all the songs full, instead of samples, then yuo could upload them? I'm pretty sure you dont have the legal rights to upload copywrited music for the process of illegal distribution. Haha jk but I seriously dont think you're aloud to do that

Rob.
Mac, if you want, I can download all the songs full, instead of samples, then yuo could upload them? Yes, but that would be illegal as all someone would need then is a 3.5mm jack lead to record the whole thing to their PC in MP3 form, this is warez, FULL STOP, no more please unless you wnat to be banned. Anyway most upload sites would allow you to upload, but not play becuase the copywrite encription would stop you from hearing it.

Mainland Marauder
So what's that Alan Parsons Project-esque piece that plays during the lowrider contest (High Stakes, Low-Rider)? MAcSandNinEs
Do you mean the race or the bounce? You do a race in High Stakes, Low Rider, but in Ceaser Vialpando, you do the bounce contest. Anyway, I'll check out some of the songs and try to find it. -JD

I mean the Cesar Vialpando mission with the bouncing lowriders...and Tahomas and whatever the hell else is parked in that lot that isn't lowriders. I digress....wondering if you knew that song. Thanks JD. Once again, great guide. I just have too slow a connection to go through and play samples of everything. pdescobar
So what's that Alan Parsons Project-esque piece that plays during the lowrider contest (High Stakes, Low-Rider)? The background ambience before the contest starts is "Road to the Riches" by Kool G Rap & DJ Polo. The two tracks you actually bounce to in the Low Rider Challenge are "Odyssey" by Johnny Harris and "West Coast Poplock" by Ronnie Hudson. They alternate with successive tries of the Challenge, but I don't remember which of the two is used on the Cesar Vialpando mission.

Mainland Marauder
That would be a good addition to the guide - which music plays in certain interiors. Here are a few: Dance clubs - "Your Love" by Frankie Knuckles and "Voodoo Ray" by A Guy Called Gerald (Both on SF-UR) Strip clubs - "So You Like What You See" by Samuelle and "Between The Sheets" by the Isley Brothers (Both on CSR) Casinos - see Mxyzptlk's post above Stadiums - "Cult of Personality" by Living Colour" (Radio X) and "Get Down To It" by Humble Pie (K-DST) Inside stripper rooms in Ballas lounge within Big Smoke's Crack Palace - "Hood Took Me Under" by Compton's Most Wanted and - if you sit in the room long enough - "It Was A Good Day" by Ice Cube (Both on Radio Los Santos) "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be." pdescobar
I think Macs actually had some of this in the beginning but it got lost along the way. It's a good thing to have here, so here are a few corrections from the guy who created the most of the non-radio track lists for the Radio Free San Andreas project (which still haven't been released in an update) and spent several hours figuring out which Ambience tracks play in which interiors to add to the IPL definitions thread. <gratuitous plug>You could actually pull this info from the metadata file supplied with SAAT.</gratuitous plug> That would be a good addition to the guide - which music plays in certain interiors. Here are a few: Dance clubs - "Your Love" by Frankie Knuckles and "Voodoo Ray" by A Guy Called Gerald (Both on SF-UR) That's correct, although in the actual music file "Voodoo Ray" comes first. Feel free to ignore that level of nitpicking as it's pretty severely Rain Man-ish. Strip clubs - "So You Like What You See" by Samuelle and "Between The Sheets" by the Isley Brothers (Both on CSR) That's only 2 of the 3; the first track on that medley is "My Lovin'" by En Vogue (CSR.) Casinos - see Mxyzptlk's post above As stated in the topic linked in that post, the casino ambience is a 3-song medley consisting of "Cross the Tracks" by Maceo & The Macks, "Hot Pants" by Bobby Byrd, and "Funky President" by James Brown (all from MasterSounds.) Stadiums - "Cult of Personality" by Living Colour" (Radio X) and "Get Down To It" by Humble Pie (K-DST) Yep, with the same inconsequential ordering nitpick I had in dance clubs. Inside stripper rooms in Ballas lounge within Big Smoke's Crack Palace - "Hood Took Me Under" by Compton's Most Wanted and - if you sit in the room long enough - "It Was A Good Day" by Ice Cube (Both on Radio Los Santos) This medley is also heard in the Pleasure Domes Interior although you can normally only enter it on one mission. Additional songs used as AMBIENCE: As mentioned earlier, "Road to the Riches" by Kool G Rap & DJ Polo (from Playback FM) is heard during the beginning of the Low Rider Challenge before the contest starts. "Pretend You're Dead" by L7 (from Radio X) is heard at the Beach Party during "Life's a Beach." Finally, the game audio contains a 3-song medley of "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N Roses (Radio X), "Strutter" by KISS (K-DST), and "Woman to Woman" by Joe Cocker (K-DST.) I've never found it in-game; it's either unused or well hidden. Bounce tracks (Cesar Vialpando & Low Rider Challenge): "Odyssey" by Johnny Harris and "West Coast Poplock" by Ronnie Hudson (both from Bounce FM.) They alternate with successive tries of the Challenge. I'm going to claim Odyssey is the one used on Cesar Vialpando until shown otherwise. Dance Tracks: "Hollywood Swingin'" by Kool & the Gang (from Bounce FM) is used on the Life's a Beach mission dance game and on dancing dates. It is also the second of three tracks you can get when simply going to the club on your own. The first is "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang" by Dr Dre (from Radio Los Santos) and the third is "Funky President" by James Brown (heard on MasterSounds). You have to get some minimum score (which I don't know) on the first song to unlock the second, etc. Oh, and one final note. A little sliver of "Killing in the Name" by Rage Against the Machine from Radio X is played on dinner dates if you take the girl to the wrong place and she throws stuff at you. MAcSandNinEs
Thanks Pd. I will use that. It doesn't seem very worthy, because only about 10 of the over 100 tracks that I have listed are used in those places. It doesn't seem to deserve a whole 'nother column. -JD
Mainland Marauder
Actually I should correct myself and say "Between the Sheets" is on Bounce FM, or at least according to the manual it is. It seems more suited for CSR. PD, I think that medley with GnR, KISS and Joe Cocker might have been intended for the bars, but instead they decided (or mistakenly put in) the Radio X feed into the bars as the ambience. K-DST plays at Binco. (It's a bit goofy that a cheap clothes store in the heart of the ghetto is playing Lynyrd Skynyrd and Rod Stewart, but I digress...) Radio X plays at Sub-Urban. SF-UR at Victim. I think it's Playback FM at Pro-Laps but I could be mistaken...I can check on that one and Zip. The strip club medley also plays in the unused brothels hidden in the interior world but easily accessible with the famed Ganton Gym Glitch. Macs-it seems like more work, but personally the biggest questions I've had as to which songs are which are in the ambience where there isn't a DJ that tells you who performs that song or what it's called. Of course someone like me will know Living Colour or Ice Cube when I hear it but few will pick up on some of the more obscure tracks like the songs from SF-UR played in the dance clubs. As you can see from the sparsity of preview clip and lyric availability those house dance cuts from the 1980s were all but forgotten until SA came around. A small note by each song that plays in ambience somewhere could even suffice in place of a separate column. Your guide, so your call. Just saying. Good work as it is though. "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be."
pdescobar
I agree that having a footnote or something probably makes more sense than an entire column that goes mostly unused. Either that or simply a list at the bottom for all the ambience and other tracks. Macs, it's ultimately your call since it's your guide. The info is already in the thread now, so whether you want to integrate it into the first post is your decision. Rolling somewhat off-topic regarding radio stations in interiors, K-ROSE is played in the Lil Probe Inn and one of the girlfriends' berdrooms (I'd guess Helena but have no real idea; it's called 'GF3' in the IPL entry). K-DST is played in 'clothgp' and 'STORE' one of which must be Binco. SFUR is played in Victim and Zero's Shop. Radio Los Santos is played in the Gay Gordo Barber Shops, 'GF1' which is probably Denise, and some other mission-specific interior related to Madd Dogg. Radio X is played in most bars, 'Hip-Hop' (probably SubUrban), 'GF4' (guessing Michelle or Katie), and the 3 tatoo parlors CSR is played in the Generic 'Macisla' Barber Shops, 'CSprt' (probably ProLaps), one of the 3 Gyms (possibly LV since it's 'GYM3'), and one of the girlfriend's bedrooms ('GF2', I'm guessing Katie) Master Sounds is played in Old Reece's Barber Shop and the Ganton Gym. Finally, your favorite radio station is played in the wardrobe. This will be the user track player if that's your favorite which prompted some discussion on how to create a "Walkman" mod when it came up in the IPL definition thread. EDIT: fixed up some stuff that MM checked out and confirmed. Edited January 31, 2006 by pdescobar
Mainland Marauder
SF-UR does play at Victim and Zero's RC Shop. Master Sounds plays at the Ganton Gym. I'll have to check on the barber shops. K-JAH gets no ambience play at all in the game apparently... "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be." MAcSandNinEs
Thanks for all of that MM and Pdescobar. I may try to download the TCG again and add the new column. Mainland Marauder
No prob. I checked on the barber shops. Mainland Marauder
Nope, you're right on that one. It's part of a three-song medley also including "Between The Sheets" by the Isley Brothers and "So You Like What You See" by Samuelle. The medley also plays in the unused brothels found in the hidden interiors, but I don't know if that's really worth mentioning in the guide...
