pdescobar Posted December 24, 2005 Share Posted December 24, 2005 Previews for the audio make this an interesting idea, but I'm not real fond of the current version. Here's why. My main issue is that the listing of this guide is specific to the 8-cd soundtrack box set rather than being keyed to the game audio; this is a problem because: The radio stations presented are incomplete. For example, there are 17 different songs played on Bounce FM but the guide only lists the 10 which are available on the soundtrack's Bounce CD. Those stations which were not part of the soundtrack set at all (such as SFUR) are thus not listed anywhere on the guide. The commercials listed on the guide are not specific to any individual station and thus really shouldn't be grouped with them. If you want to list a few of the commercials because you can get previews for them (and it is just a few as there are 69 commercials actually played in the game) I'd suggest a separate commercial list after the radio. But if you do that, it'd probably make sense to list them all... The intros and cutins really don't provide any useful information and instead just clutter up the list, making it harder to pick out the songs. I'd rather they were simply removed; at the very least they should be separated out and either placed before or after the playlist for the station. My next problem is with the table layout. Having everything in a single huge table with the station names off to the side is confusing. I would much prefer a more broken-up layout such as the one Hell No. used in his apparently abandoned attempt at compiling a list of lyrics. Which brings me to the final issue of there being no mention of the lyrics. While previews can help you identify a song, many people want a copy of the lyrics for reasons other than song identification. I was disappointed to see Hell No.'s list wither and die so soon and think a complete list of lyrics would be a useful thing. The best option would be to get together with Hell No. and collaborate. If the two of you could manage to get together a complete track list with both lyric links and working preview links (none of the current Amazon links do anything for me), a very handy little guide could result. =========== Off-topic: People, please take the arguing elsewhere. Or do they have to be in .ram, becuase real audio doesn't work very well on my PC, not sure if everyone else has .ram compatible players, but i know i don't. Thanks though.-JD- Just from looking at radio los santos, you're missing about 5 to 6 songs. Ex: you're missing "f*ck wit Dre day", "Nuttin but a g thing" and "deep cover" Its because the Sa handbook duznt have all the songs. If you download the SA music extractor, and looked at all the songs u extract, that wud givve you a more accurate number. But dont worry dude, this is accurate enough as it is.
