Run Down That Guy

Vice City - SA

 

This is a map conversion of Vice City to the San Andreas engine.

 

I have some of the map done:

 

Most of Downtown

Vice Point (NBeach)

some of Ocean Beach

Golf Course & Bridge

Prawn Island

 

I still have alot to do, and I may need some help (Converting IPL's), PM me if your interested.

 

Screenshots

 

Expect a release VERY soon.

 

Credits for whats there so far:

Models & some textures: XRK

Mapping, col conversions (not done yet) and other crap: Run Down That Guy!!

Nicely done xrk and Run Down That Guy!! it looks great and I am looking forward to a release but just wondering this is just Vice City on the San Andreas engine which means map cleaner is needed for this job right?

Is there anyway you could also correct the Draw Distance?, because to be honest, San Andreas Original Draw Distance is OK, but when Vice City is using it, it looks rubbish, i mean just look at these...

even the PS2 could Draw These areas in Full. Just goes to show how rubbish the Original Draw Distance is for San Andreas.

I think you will find that the LOD files are not compleated.

 

RDTG - Do you just import the objects into 3ds (or gmax or something) and then re-export them as san an dff's??

According to XRK, thats how it's done, and they come out just fine.

 

BTW: Yes the LODs are NOT done, I have to manually redo the IPL's for that stupid LOD system San Andreas uses.

 

Also, in http://vcsa.rdtg.org/images/hotel.PNG - that isnt a lod tounge.gif, the reason all the buildings arnt there is thats a very early shot of Vice Point, the lod of that hotel is much much worse smile.gif.

1. No offense to the LVS team, but you guys are doing a bad job, your slow, and you are just plain doing it wrong.

2. Im SICK of waiting 6 months for 2 peices of land.

Are we playing GTA Vice City again? I mean you play as tommy and you do the same mission?

This is looking good. Are you going to take it as far as Liberty City? And what are you going to call it? GTA:Vice CityII? I'd like to help, but only after I get my new graphics card so I can get SanAn.

2. true but replacing the san andreas land is easier than adding it.

3. You don't need a vicecity disk anymore.

Well Dillyracer to tell you guys the truth you should of just map cleaned SA and then created a whole new IMG file and started to convert and place VC dff and txd files in the new IMG file and then you should of just placed that IMG with a normal SA folder and just increase the number on the Z coordinates in order to have VC above SA.

Are you guys gonna release what you got really really really soon because I am anxious to see what you guys got now and that should be the beta 1 release because that is how xrk did it when he release his first beta 1 of gtalc for the san andreas engine because at the beta 1 he only had Portland and Shoreside Vale.

 

Really hope to see a beta 1 of what you got so far really really soon.

If it runs for you, your in good shape, if not, keep waiting until I make a full snapshot avalible.

And just to inform you guys LVS will speed up its progress soon we are just waiting on summin and yea i have to agress with alot of people on this forum we are very slow and mike dont know what hes doin half the time.But soon we will speed up our progress

 

I like the model lighting in the pic of cj holding a gun by the building site how did u fix it?

 

Goodluck with this would liek to see what comes near the final releases
