millermagic
Ok, I know Dell uses Proprietary power supplies but I don't think gateway does. Anyway, I'm looking into a new case and it comes with a 500 watt PSU. Only one problem, I don't think it has the P9 power connector. I have a few ATX power supplies laying around, and none of them have the P9 connectors. Is this something that I'm just missing on the other ones or does gateway have a proprietary power supply? If so, I may be looking for a new motherboard.
NeoSNightmarE
i got a gateway the other day that was made just for that case. granted it was from like 1999 or 2000, it still had it. so im not sure if thats always the case being as i havent messed with Gateways basically at all. just thought i would share that i ran into this issue with a gateway from back then and found out that it was a propietary PSU
millermagic
I have seen the gateways you are talking about. The power supply is proprietary, but in a different way. Those power supplies are specially made for the case, my case will hold any power supply, but the motherboard has different connectors on it.
