SLUGFly
I can't figure out what the problem is with my game. It started during "Reuniting the Families" with a serious graphical error where "the driver stopped responding" The game got incrementally worse and now is totally unplayable due to freezing (whole pc freeze, not just game) When I'm surfing the net, occasionally (sometimes more frequently than other times) my screen will freeze up for a few seconds, then go black for half a second and then go back to normal... Would I know if I toasted my graphics card? Is this something that would shut down my pc or certain pc functions altogether? I can still watch videos and DVD's (I think) but when I watch a flash sometimes (rare) my pc freezes up entirely like when I play GTA (I get average 10-20 seconds out of GTA before a freeze). If I wouldn't know through obvious means, how would I go about checking the state of my graphics card? In my DxDiag and my System Tools everything shows up as fine... vALKYR
Do other games work? Or is GTA San Andreas the only game you have a problem with? If so, it's prolly not your GTA San Andreas Game responsible for the freezing, meaning this topic might be happier when it's in PC Chat.
SLUGFly
It's in PC Chat now And without having been moved even... (too many windows open?) I actually have a thread in the troubleshooting forum too, but that one doesn't relate to the graphics card burnout problem (a possibility I've only recently begun seriously thinking about) and instead just focuses on: why do I only get 10 seconds of gameplay before my pc freezes up...
