_-playero-_
Well, my dvdrw drive failed twice to burn an xISO, so I'm wondering if the drive is fubared or what the hell. It also failed burning cdrw with NERO, then I tried with RecordNow MAX and it worked. But it might be just luck. Anyway, is there any tool that can let me test the drive? Right now I just have 1 CD-RW, but I was wondering if there is a way to test it without using black cds/dvds. Any ideas?
Forfit
I have this program that came with my computer called "PC-Doctor" It has a section where you can test all your hardware stuff, including optical drives. I'm not sure if it is downloadable free from the net but i will have a look for you. And however, im not sure how good it tests the drives, because ive never had to use it. Dup
Usually trying to lower the write speed helps as the discs might not fully support the max speed of the drive, even if advertiesed.

Yeah, first I tried at 8x (the dvd-r's max speed). The I tried (same brand of disc) at 4x, and it failed too. Weird thing is that with CD-RW, failed too with Nero, but when I tried with RecordNow Max, went flawlessly.
