felicia
which one is better on PC ? Edited December 12, 2005 by felicia
Stezza
I've got version 1, but it depends. If you don't know much about San Andreas, then get Version 2 (you'll see why). -Stef
Sillyhed2000
You can no longer buy V1 firsthand. Tracking it down secondhand would probably be an expensive option. Basically, you can mod V1 (install custom cars, weapons, maps etc) but in V2 you can't. Judge for yourself which one you want, although at this point you probably don't have much choice. Mike_Toreno
Version 1 is better by far. It's the original, and it's fully moddable. However with Version 2 you cannot mod the game at all, which sucks. If you're planning on getting San Andreas for PC, then I'm afraid to say you'll have trouble finding an original, moddable Version. eBay
MAcSandNinEs
Version 1.1 is totally moddable, except Rockstar took out Hot Coffee. ~M$&9$~

poopskin
[slappers only] is there anyway to un-unmoddable V.2 without no-cd cracks?[/slappers only]
GTA3Freak-2001
Nope not unless you get a hold of a version 1 .exe file but don't bother asking here as its illegal to distribute an .exe file of any kind.
Simon.
Get v1! You get hours of fun out of modding. New things come along all the time, sometimes even new games can be made out of the San Andreas engine. Whereas in v2 you only get Sunday Driver (you get it on PC, right?) which would be alright for the first time around but wouldn't be re-used and San Andreas wouldn't be re-used as much either. MAcSandNinEs
The basis for most of the purchases of San Andreas for PC is modding. Now please lock. Catloaves are gangster. Al da playaz iz doin it! ~M$&9$~

maf
Just like GTA3 and Vice City, most mods just crash my game. Yes, I've used the correct tools, rebuilt the .img file, etc. Game usually freezes sometime after installing any new mod, cars, maps. I'm just sticking with the default game and no hassles. It's true i remember have used the real GTA3 mod in my PC copy of GTA3 and you needed to remove a txd. file from the folder, so i deleted, except anoyingly it restored itself, so it was a bit annoying have to replace files everytime i wanted to play GTA3 real. Great Mod though. I though V2 just had the files taken out of it. What files are missing from it to make it unmoddable totally?
