Krailer
Ok, first I'd like to know if there's a tool to extract/replace collision files for SA like the one for VC. If so, please point me a download link. Assuming there is such a tool, can I duplicate vehciles in the game? Let me explain a little better. Most mods that I like replace the same vehicle. Sure, I can always replace another vehicle instead of the one that is meant to be replaced, but the collision file may not be compatible, and I don't want to have my cars and bikes sinking into walls and sh*t. I'll give an example of what I have in mind: Let's say I have 3 modded cars that replace the Infernus. There's only 1 Infernus in the game, but I still want to install the 3 modded cars. Could I replace the collision files of 2 other cars in the game with the one from the Infernus, so that there would be 3 cars with the Infernus collision specs? Thanks. fuckindumass
Simple...SA no longer uses a seperate col file..the col info is contained within the .dff file...so, if you download a file meant to replace the infernus, and you wish to replace the comet with it instead, simply use a proggy like zmod2 or gmax or 3ds to change the naming in the dff......... Krailer
If the collision info is contained within the .dff file, doesn't that makes it easier? I mean, if I download a new car model, it contains both the .dff and the .txd, so whichever car I replace in the game, the collision info is already setup for the new model (in the new .dff), right? SeaNorris.
f*ckindumbass - you don't even need to go into Zmod to change the name, if you want to replace comet.dff with infernus.dff rename it, it works.
Krailer
f*ckindumbass Oh, I'm sorry if my intelligence is somewhat bellow your standards. I do appreciate the helpful info, though I think the insult part was unnecessary. And since you’re such a f*ucking genius, maybe you could enlighten me about another question: I know that one cannot have more vehicles in game than those allowed, but what if I delete some vehicles to reduce the overall poly volume (i.e. having less vehicles in game)? green-sabre
that should work just delete all the really sh!t vehicles and i think he was refering to the person with that user name not you

Krailer
SeaNorris that was my bad, please accept my apologies. And thanks again for your help. The guy who said about renaming was called f*ckindumnass and thats who seanorris was addressing. You f*cking dumbass. As to you Dup, how is your post helpful to this thread? Green-sabre already had alerted me to my misinterpretation regarding SeaNorris’ reply, and provided more info about my questions. You seem to have chimed in just to throw some flames, which makes your post kinda pointless, no?
Picolini
I noticed Dup likes to bust people for posting pointless things, flaming, and sh*t like that.... but then goes and does it him/her self.... Corruption i say! Back on topic... renaming the .dff file only works some of the times for cars. If i try to replace a different vehicle then i try to use one from the same class. IE, if have a mod for a Previon, but that car is already taken, so just replace the Manana. Both 2 door compacts. That usually works for me. But i have gotten any plane that replaces the hydra to work on other planes....
Dup
As you may have noticed, he's editied his post, which either I didn't see or wasn't there before, hence the white text in his post . But yeah, anyway, the end bit was kind of a joke, but obviously everyone just expects the worse of people on the internet so in turn I'm made to look bad. Read things more light heartedly, you hardly took SeaNorris post without reading it twice, I had to read it twice and look back up the page, ANYWAY, I was at work and couldn't take too long to post. Usually quiet up here so I could do a ninja edit. You can rename and replace any car in SA with any model. Obviously you need to pick a car quite like the car you're replacing it with as some animations are hardcoded to work with the vehicle name, like animated pop-up lights. You will also need to alter the handling line too, as converting the handling can be fishy, also the flags would need to be edited to suit the car, like dual exhaust etc. I won't bore you with that. Check out this tool and Cerberas handling guides for some detailed info on handling for all the 3D GTA Series. Its directly linked to a very useful tool for handling editing, navigate round the site for his tutorials etc. Also, col files are self contained in the dff. So if the author made one, it should be fine. Blame the modeler if its sh*t. I aint read up too much on the SA col files. I still need to finish one of my models yet. Pickalini - I kind of have the right to bust people for what I can. This place needs some iron justice to keep the leechers out and the productive people in. Theres nothing worse than trauling through pages of "wow cool model" when a modder is asking a question so then they can make progress. It takes a bit of a "pointless" post to get people back on track.

Uhmm this is very intersting to know, S.N. and you have'nt had any conflicts at all with the dff's having the same dummie name under the dff name? Mr Killer
You cannot kinda duplicate a vehicle, but you can duplicate a vehicle. Just replace a random car with the dff and txd of the vehicle you want to duplicate. IMG Tool is required for this.
Krailer
Pickalini – Thanks for the info. I’ll keep in mind the vehicles properties. This also makes me think about your Hydra issue, it makes sense, since it takes off vertically as opposed to all other planes in the game. green-sabre – yeah, the idea is precisely to delete the crappy original models. And I do need to keep down the poly count, my video card can barely support the original SA (it needs some serious upgrade). Dup – It’s all good. I’ll keep in mind the vehicles animations when replacing them. And thanks for the link to Cerbera’s CFG Studio, I’m sure it will come in handy. f*ckingdumass – LOL… No problem, really. Killer789 – I cannot kinda, but I can? Ok… And yeah, I got IMG Tool from GTAGarage.
