Grand Theft Auto The Comic

 

This is still a Work in Progress so most of the lines arent very viewable, I still have to go over them with a darker pencil. This Comic is set on Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. I would like to know what you guys think, and if i should continue with the comic.

 

Part 1: The Intro

Brief description: Portland Harbor, Liberty City 1994. Toni brakes up a meeting between 2 gangs and kills one of the gangs leaders (A Made man)

Nice, you'v got some comic talent, although one thing and you were right, you need to use a darker media, use a black liner if you can, when scanning those they come up really well. I also like hte little Vector Effect you drew, very cool, I like the comic hands and in general its a nice comic

 

Although can you tell me what the last part is?

Thanks man. I was thinking about going over it in fineliner, so I will possibly do that (if I can find a fineliner in my house that is )

 

The last bit is supposed to be "The Made Man"'s hand/arm and the gun he was holding next to it. I need to redo the gun and possibly put a little blood in (to show he's dead)

That's... horrible.

Seriously, use proper software for these kind of things. My eyes hurt from looking at that. While the idea may be there, you need to present it in a more humane way. Or at least use some software to touch it up, especially the writing.

Thanks, I will probably only be able to get one more comic done from now until christmas and a tiny bit onwards. Seeing as they are going to be oN GTA LCS, I have to first get the game so I know what happens.

@Blackhawk: The writing should look better once i've gone over it in fineliner. Remember it is still a work in progress. And how would I present it in a more "humane" kind of way? At least give me an example.

Well the writing is too bright, very hard to read. But you're working on that. I'd suggest ditching the pencil and paper and booting up Photoshop/Paint Shop Pro. Plus color would make it nicer to look at.

I'll post an edit soon with what I have in mind.

I wont be able to use PS or Paint Shop Pro or anything like that, because I can't afford this kind of stuff. The best thing I would be able to use is MS Paint, and I think you can see why it wouldnt be so good for doing this sort of thing.

Maybe you couls just scan them in as Jpg's as you've done and then just touch them up and add text in MS paint? Or even MS Publisher.

I thought this first episode was set in 1994, 4 years beofre LCS? Anyway in hte opening cutscene he get's picked up by a coach and then gets a call from Vincenzo.

Well Episode 2 will be one day later, him getting on the plane.

Then episode 3 will be him coming back to Liberty, im just sort of planning ahead for the next comics.

You see how color makes it 10x better looking? We're not in the days of black and white imaging you know.

EDIT: About not being able to afford the software, each company has a 30 day trial version on their websites, I suggest you give it a shot.

Hawk, you come a little hostile. why. but hey, i like the comic, should look great after you done. I like the pen and paper method. Most comic are are still done by that method. try shadeing, give alot of depth, pencile is great for that. mabey some conversation in it, liek have him scream"Your gonna die scum f*ck!!!" before he shoot they guy. i dont know..just an idea

@hawk: I'm going to finidh off my first comic and if it still doesn't look that good I might give it a shot in PS or PSP, but im not too keen on the idea.

Not sure about that, usually it can turn out good but sometimes using colouring pencils can make it go horribly wrong.

the paint shop pro free trial never expires so it may be worth doing that

 

you could also make your comic a gif using paint shop pro animation shop

 

give it a try i use paint shop pro for my animations
