millermagic
I have an Nvidia GeForce 5500FX O/C (came from the factory like that). Anyway, I found that I can overclock it. Currently I am using the method that requries me to edit the registry. Is there any other method that I can use to overclock and two other things - how fast can I safely go and is there a temperature monitor program for this and what is a safe temp. Bond996
Rivatuner is probably what you're looking for. I don't know a safe temperature though. My 9600XT runs at 45 degrees C constantly, but my 6600GT can get up to the 80s and 90s and still be a safe temp.
Forfit
Coolbits is another program that you can use. But i prefer Rivatuner also like Bond suggested. I believe My 5500FX is at 47C right now. And from a stock 270/400 i have mine at a mild overclock of 285/430.

Cran.
You can download NVTweak, and you can unlock a menu in the driver utilty that allows you to overclock
