ajkhan316`
1. Reduce your resolution to 640*480 16bit 2. Stick to the left side of the plane. 3. Constantly tap the "Lean Forward" key to make the bike go faster If you do all that, you will be able to catch the plane halfway down the runway. And be cautious of the barrels falling out the back of the plane. - FiJiAn 4 LiFe

gillies
I think some people that had trouble with this mission were able to get it to work by turning off the frame limiter in the display settings for the game, so that is something else you could try in addition to everything ajkhan316` suggested. Also try going thru the FBI agents not around
MAcSandNinEs
Yeah, but you must watch out for the cars and be careful to no spin out. Also, just go through the boxes, don't try and go around. ~M$&9$~

grove_street_og
The file is handling.cfg. I don't know if you can make the plane slower, because you aren't flying it. But I made the Dodo faster by decreasing the drag, so what is this plane, an AT-400? You could find it and increase its drag a whole lot. Or you could change the bike so it has the same handling as an NRG-500. But I just fooled around with the mission a little bit and twice I got on the plane without pressing or tapping "lean forward." The "lean forward" really works, but if you can do it without it, it's one less thing to worry about. I held down "accelerate" right from the beginning, swung over to the left, and then headed back toward the plane in front and to the right, in as good a route as I could manage. I swung far enough left so I was clear of the cars and things, and I either passed just to the left of or ran over this FBI agent.

grove_street_og
I didn't alter the handling file for that, I was just thinking about stuff you could do. What you do is, first back up the file. Then you open it using Notepad. Then you make the changes you want to make. There are lists of vehicles, with a bunch of values, which are labeled, but most of which I don't understand. I would just copy each value for the NRG-500 and use it to replace the equivalent value for the PCJ-600 or whatever it is. I think, however, that you should maybe hold off on that or put up a message on general PC Chat, if that's appropriate, so that somebody who knows more about it than me can tell you maybe one or two values you can change to get your speed up, instead of all of them. The FIRST thing I'd do is just look at the handling.cfg file to sort of see what it looks like so you get an idea of what it does. The only change I have ever made was changing the drag on the Dodo because I couldn't do Freefall, and that change would be no use to you at this point. I practiced a little on Stowaway, and found it pretty easy if you do it right (admittedly, I too have failed to catch the plane on numerous occasions. What I did was, I held down the left turn key and the accelerate key all during the cutscene. Then when the bike started to move, I cut across the runway to get on the left side of it pretty quick, then turned back toward the plane as fast as I could. This guy who's standing kind of in the middle of the runway shooting at you, you past him very near to your left side of him (his right, because he's facing you) or right over him. You're coming at the plane from its left. Again: Quick left across the runway. Right turn back toward the plane, a sort of sweeping turn because you're going full throttle the whole time. Full throttle toward the plane. I did this without leaning forward at all, and found it easier and easier as I practiced. If you tap the lean forward key so that CJ keeps hunched over the handlebars, you get on pretty quick. If you can't do it, I'd just get someone to do it for you, because I found the mission sort of boring. The fun part is just getting on the plane, I thought. grove_street_og
All right, now I am going to tell you the real way, not like before. I did it again and paid better attention this time. 1. All during the cutscene, have your fingers on accelerate and left turn. 2. When the bike starts to move, you naturally head left. Almost immediately correct to the right so that you're heading pretty much straight toward that FBI guy on the left. 3. Run over him or pass him very close to your left side of him. I'd pass him, so you don't get slowed down or spun around. 4. Get headed toward the plane and stick as close to headed toward the plane as you can while still making adjustments to avoid barrels. 5. Don't brake or take your finger off accelerate at any time. If you tap "lean forward" so that CJ stays hunched over the handlebars, the bike goes even faster and you should get on the plane quicker. But following the procedure above does it for me without that.
