maf 1
Hi, does anyone have a good link to Alci's SAAT GUI FrontEnd 1.0 Beta 2? I can't find this file anywhere to download. Cheers!
BoxCutter 0
Does this thing work with Vista? I'm using Vista Home 32bit OS and the command prompt will not stay open. when I double click the executable, it opens and just disappears.
maf 1
Does this thing work with Vista?I'm using Vista Home 32bit OS and the command prompt will not stay open. when I double click the executable, it opens and just disappears. That happens in XP as well. Command-based apps usually require that you open a Command Prompt first, then run the app from in there. With SAAT, though, it's probably best to get either the GUI For SAAT, or Alci's SAAT GUI FrontEnd.

chlaguevuck 0
This is for everybody who changed some sound effects. But made the game change other sound effects into another one. Two days ago, I used the program to change the weapon's sound effects to more real sounds. But made the police sirens sound like when you activate your Nightvision goggles. I suspected that maybe this was caused because the weapon sounds don't even last a second. And that my replacements lasted up to 4 seconds. So with Audacity, I've cut pieces of the sound (while still keeping it usuable) and saved. Now, I don't know if it's because now the file size is now smaller or that the sound now lasts about a second. But it appears that everything works fine. If you had the same problem. Try what I did and see if it works. Yes, for me it works that way. now, the only thing that has bugs is the rain-sound. When the modded sounds are buggy, it can help to export all the file, then reimport it so Banklkup.dat is updated. [edit:] Where are Carl's texts ???? look here, at the end of list: (search for "SPC_PA SFX Archive Directory") http://pdescobar.home.comcast.net/gta/saat...dir.html#PAIN_A have a nice weekend... bobjapeto 0
can someone please write a simple tutorial for this?? i managed to export the ogg. files with saa editor but when i have the file with 40 tracks i opened them with vlc and they worked fine so i then replaced track_27 with a ogg music file which i renamed track_27 but the old track still plays during the game????? baffled? please help
Afroman245 0
yeh, i tried that too. Except i replaced the sirens. Bank_068, sound_011 and 012. When i imported them, they wouldnt play in-game, but when i exported them afterwards, i played sound_011 and 012 they played as the new files i placed in there. So it imported them. Could this be a Vista compatibility issue?? Im baffled.
kmssd 0
Does this work for the xbox version?
pdescobar 10
I'd be very surprised if it worked for the xbox version. It was written specifically for the PC version and I have no idea how the xbox handles audio. However, if the xbox uses the same file types it might work. Be sure to let me know if you try it. kmssd 0
I did try it, but it didn't seem to work, but I could try it once again. .
kmssd 0
When I tried to put a sound it and drive the car it froze. Idk if I'm doing it wrong though, I write down how I install them, First I extract the GENRL file, next I then I replace the files in the bank 39 and 40 folder, hit save, replace the GENRL file and the CONFIG folder, test game ok so far... get in car with different sound, then it freezes. Am I installing the sound wrong? Or is it not meant for xbox
pdescobar 10
It doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong. Try copying another sound from the game over. For example: 1. extract the files 2. copy the sounds from bank 41 to bank 39 3. copy the sounds from bank 42 to bank 40 4. import the sounds back 5. test the Blade, Buccaneer, Clover, Sabre, Savanna, Stallion, or Voodoo and see if it sounds like the Sanchez If that also freezes the game then SAAT may not work with the xbox version; if that doesn't freeze the game, then SAAT probably works for xbox and there may be a problem with the sounds you are trying to use. kmssd 0
I will try that later and let you know what happens, also I just found out I have verison 2, even though car mods and hot coffee work.
kmssd 0
Ok this program works for xbox, the blade sounded like a dirtbike, so that means the mod I downloaded don't work for xbox. Edited December 3, 2007 by kmssd
Stevey_JoeJoe 0
When I replace audio files for a helicopter, the game crashes when I enter it, how come? Edited December 6, 2007 by Stevey_JoeJoe
pdescobar 10
Because something went wrong with the import or the files you imported are too different from the original game files. Can you provide any more detail like which helicopter, which files were replaced, size/length/other characteristics of the replacement files, etc?
pdescobar 10
Oh, if anyone has a link to Alci's SAAT GUI FrontEnd (preferably something "official" like the author's website) please post it here so I can add it to the first post. Thanks!
pgtipsp 0
hey, im trying to replace sound files in the stream section, but when i pess save it has the exporting thing for a second then an error message about a problem with 'lookup file' for the sa directory - ive set it to the gta directory and all, and i dont dont know what the problem is im using alci's gui fronted 1.0, and my sa is pathed to v1.1 thanks for any help Edited December 12, 2007 by pgtipsp
pdescobar 10
I've never even seen Alci's front-end (note post above) so it's difficult to help with that problem. If you could post the exact error message that SAAT generates it might narrow things down though. The lookup file for the streams is audio\CONFIG\TrakLkup.dat so make sure it's there and it's not set to read-only.
pgtipsp 0
the precise error message is 'Error Opening Lookup File:C:/Program Files/Rockstar Games/GTA San Andreas' link to gui frontend http://gta-worldmods.planet-multiplayer.de...3166798cd9983b0 the file is there and none of the files are read only Edited December 13, 2007 by pgtipsp
pdescobar 10
That error would come from an incorrect filename specified for the lookup file; only the main program directory was specified and not the lookup file itself. If there's a way to explicitly specify that file location from within the front end, do so. Otherwise, it's a problem with the frontend and you'll have to contact Alci about it. With SAAT, though, it's probably best to get either the GUI For SAAT, or Alci's SAAT GUI FrontEnd. i have that same problem, ive got version 2 and im using vista, and so i opened command prompt and tried to do what the tutorial says for installing it but it doesnt work. im not looking to change anything, i just want to extract pedestrian voices to use. Im a dj/producer, and i want to use the samples for my mixes and sets. what ive been doing is playing the game while recording what plays through my soundcard with Cool Edit Pro. the 3 problems are: its extremely time consuming, theres usually backround noise (cars, honking, gunshots, etc), and i have to wait for or do stuff to make certain peds to say certain things. i just need to extract them as OGGs and i can do the rest. i really dont know sh*t about programming stuff. i enter in the command lines indicated in the readme, but command prompt does not recognize any of them. i got the SAAT folder in my game directory. what else do i need to do? any other info you need to help me, ill give, but there isnt much more than that i think. thanks
pdescobar 10
You can either try using one of the GUIs (links in first post) or post back with the following info and I'll modify the example to suit your situation. 1) The exact folder in which your game is installed. 2) The exact folder in which the SAAT exes are installed. 3) The exact error message you are getting when you say that "command prompt does not recognize any of them."
