trikkstah
That Mythbuster-topic was just closed, but I had one more thing about the wheelchair myth. The wheelchair is directly from Manhunt, not even that, it's from the very first scene from Manhunt. At the the start of the game to your right behind the dumpster. It's just a reference to the game, nothing more nothing less. Here are the pics to prove it. The time on that fromt wheel is just a texture. In GTA they use different textures then in Manhunt, but it's clearly the same damn wheelchair, so end of that myth. From Manhunt 1st scene: From GTA:SA Another reference hint (Carcer City):
Mxyzptlk
Well done! But GTAfreak said to post easter eggs in the easter eggs topic when he locked mythbusters.... I'll add your find to the list and credit you. Thanks again,
D Jones
Good find. That Wheelchair had to mean something, maybe it resembles James Cash or Starkweather .
trikkstah
thnx I just started playing Manhunt and I thought: 'Damn, thats the wheelchair...', haven't finished Manhunt yet though. I read the whole Mythbuster post and I don't buy all the Bigfoot and Alien stuff, but that wheelchair thing got me curious. It's also a reference to a movie I think, because the scene in GTA:SA of the empty wheelchair on a wooden pier reminds me of a scene in a movie I've seen once, can't remember which one though. Anywayz, I love the way Rockstar puts references of movies and games (especially their own) into the GTA series.

Concept.
The SA one looks quite different... No, it doesn't. You might want to get your eyes checked. It's got the same bars that twist, same wheels, same everything. The only difference is that the SA one is made of in-game textures.

Which is purely a texture issue, as Concept said. I would bet if you investigated it, you'd find that the manhunt one doesn't actually have true spokes, but instead has a solid wheel texture which has some lines resembling spokes while the rest of the wheel is simply transparent. The base model looks to be identical.

trikkstah
I'm now further on in Manhunt and the're more wheelchairs and there's a lot of models from the game that they used in SA. Dumpsters, trashcans, scenery stuff. Even the blue 'hippo-trashcan' you see around SA is also in Manhunt. Gues the designers didn't feel much like creating al new models. NightHawk231
Yeah, and the "skip hire" seen on the wheels refers to a "dumpster" (in America) that can be hauled away by truck. The "skip" is a large, metal, usually open-topped container where you throw your trash. The "hire" part is that you rent one from a company that comes and removes it. If you look closely you'll see the texture is that of a dirty, rusty metal of a "skip". Also, I was there around 19:00 (game time) and saw the reddish/pinkish glow so many have reported. What's that all about? Currently scanning the surrounding area (in Blue Hell) to see if I can find the reported "dead body in a blue suit" nearby underwater. No luck so far. Venom
The third looks like a wooden rell - thing, not a wheelchair.
MAcSandNinEs
It wasn't meant as a wheelchair; it was just another Carcer City reference that he pointed out. ~M$&9$~

glenster
This is weird. My Google, E-mail, etc.--everything seems to be working fine, but the images of the wheelchair don't appear--there are just blank spaces there. And when I click the URL, I get a screen that takes a long time to show me one of those "message can't be displayed" or such screens. Could someone please throw it on ImageShack for me? I'm interested to see it.

Alegzander
Because. The wheelchair had gone through much in the past, and still hasn't been destroyed, so it would be randy if it stayed at least as a wheel.

MAcSandNinEs
I think he wants that to happen so there'll always be a piece of San Andreas and Manhunt in the next GTA. It may continue the mystery. ~M$&9$~
