CheatDevice v0.8 for LCS

I have a small request.

Could you please make a button or something to press X on that would actually spawn the vehicle you selected instead of (i assume) putting in the cheat to spawn that specific ID (vehicle)

 

Maybe when u press x, it tosses in the button pressing... or something.

that and possibly having this patch applied to a full 100% complete save game would be very useful. all three islands to have fun on haha.

 

i can supply anything you may need.

He already said in a previous post that it was a good idea, and all indications are that we'll see this in a future version just give him time.

 

BTW, Most of you people should know better by now than to update your PSPs the minute a new update comes out. So don't cry now because it doesn't work with 2.6.

well for me my psp bricked when playing a game i bought so i sent it back to sony and it came back with 2.6 so im really hoping it will become compatible with 2.6

are you kidding? just look one or 2 pages before this and you will see Edison clearly says he will not work on 2.6 so it's no use begging for now. He already has plenty of work to do with the existing firmwares, and he warned everyone not to update to 2.6 because he won't be working on it anytime soon.

 

Dommox: that sucks man, in your case it's different since you didn't willingly update to 2.6....but you should still understand that Edison does all of this for free and I bet eventually he will take care of 2.6 but right now his hands are full. In a way, it's easy for me to say because I have a working version and I can use the cheat, and if I was in your situation I would be dying to try it, but I would just patiently wait.

 

(one thing you could try is buy a PSP at walmart or somewhere similar and then return your 2.6 one...a lot of times they don't check the serial number so you could get a PSP with 2.0...just a thought)

Do you think the DODO will fly if you find a large hill in LCS, spawn the DODO on top of the hill, then make the DODO go down the hill until it picks up enough speed to fly, then in midair would the throttle kick in??

@supacasey: Yes, the dodo will glide a little if you push it down the mountain. Not much, but enough to see that it has dodo physics. I'm going to add thrust to it to make it flyable.

The weather glitches changes at specific times. Make sure you freeze time when doing this.

 

Weather Selection In Menu:

8/12/14 = Completely blue weather effect, can hardly see anything, can see lights well.

9 = Completely dark weather effeft, can hardly see anything, see lights well, this is darker than #6 (Dark).

10 = Same as #9, but like brown.

11/15 = Brown-like weather color, can see a little when you/pedestrians drive, you/they will sometimes disappear and re-appear, depending where you are. It's like things load when you re-appear from when you disappeared. If you disappeared, you can look behind or on the side to see yourself again.

13 - Brown-like color, can see a little.

It has the unstable GTA3 style dodo physics, but it's not going to be as hard to fly because it'll have sufficient thrust. The main challenge with the GTA3 dodo was it barely had enough power to stay in the air. One mistake and you were in the water.

 

By the way, one use for the teleporter is if you end up in the water, and you have inf health on so you don't die, you can teleport yourself out. It works.

 

For the teleporter, mainly I need Shoreside Vale coordinates, since I haven't gotten through much of the Shoreside Vale missions yet. Unless some of the names of the places are spoilers.

I have just tested the Euro Version of this cheat on the AU copy of GTA:LCS (region) and it works!!!

edison could you post the method you used to decrypt/modify the data.bin file

He discusses it briefly at the ps2dev forums but he's been tight-lipped about anything else (including his methods for automatically resolving NIDs, the LCS exploit, etc). Too bad really, as this would be very useful info for extending homebrew to 2.50+ without facilitating piracy.

He used the PSP itself to decode the save files, by creating his own homebrew that loaded a savefile and I am assuming wrote the output to the memory stick for him to edit on his computer. Then he reversed the first homebrew program so that it took in and encrypted his new savefile. I didn't know that Sony made all the save files in a standard fashion; I thought they might be just a local encoding made by the game. Irregardless, this is a brilliant idea. That's resourceful, right there.
