I got the new PSP and upgraded it to 2.5. It was kinda sad...

 

It turns out all it needed was for the syscalls to be fixed up. This version fixes them up dynamically, so it should be firmware version independent now. Someone needs to test it on 2.6 to make sure.

 

This version also adds SNOW and other weather choices.

 

US/Canada version for fw 2.0, 2.01, 2.5 and probably 2.6:

*When I was changing the weather everything began changing colors between black, white, grey, and blue and I couldn't see anything.

 

It just changed back to where I could see and 9 looks to be just overcast.

My guess is he used Microsoft Excel to determine the encryption and went from there. As far as launching homebrew applications, it's not likely. He is using the 'mission' editing script Rockstar uses to change events outside of missions. Unless this somehow has the capacity to launch a dll or a .pbp, I doubt we'll be seeing any monster modifications or homebrew launching.

The only homebrew that can 'really f*ck up your psp' is a virus homebrew; one that deletes three critical system files from the PSP's flash memory, rendering it useless: a brick.

 

If he has read/write priviledges, coders might be able to delete the current firmware and install a lower one; a downgrader of sorts.

 

But the details aren't really in yet, so I am just taking an educated guess.

Edison can you upgrade your 2.50 PSP to 2.60 becuase its kinda useless to build around 2.50 . Most 2.50 users want to upgrade but cant because they want the cheat thing.

You said it was just a minor thing you needed to change in the from the firmware. get a 2.6 user and then ask then what it is... then get some testers... but I dont see the point at staying at 2.5 but if you want it like that edison you deserve it. tnaks for all the help and your christmas present is coming along good... still making it.~Rela82me~

*crosses fingers* remember, if it doesnt come up automatically at first, press L+R+UP , R+UP, or L+UP. If none of those work, it is definitely 2.6 INcompatible

Alright, game loads just fine... but then when I get there I try to press L1 and UP and nothing happens. So... no 2.6 yet

 

EDIT- Yeah trying all the buttons don't work sorry

Dang... oh well 2.6 is very cool hope we can see this for it soon
