I STOLE THE HELI AND I MANAGED TO FLY TO STAUNTON!

I got the helicopter from calm before the storm and i tried pushing it into my portland garage but i can only get the back end in , and i can fly it all the way to staunton and anywhere else i want!!

 

if i can just put it in the garage and save it then everyone we will finally have the helicopter!!!!!

 

 

 

Let me tell you all how to get at the point were i am at, maybe if more than one of us tries it then we'll get it.

 

I have mastered how to get the pilot out before the helicopter leaves the building in chinatown

here are my steps

 

1. By now you should know how to jack the copter from "calm before the storm" well jack the helicopter.

 

2.remember the stairs you climbed with the motorcycle and the alley that they are in?

fly the helicopter into that alley after you jack it

 

3.park the helicopter in the alley at an angle and make sure the front is facing the stairs

 

4.wedge the front of the helicopter inbetween the beginning of the stairs and the opposite wall so that only the passenger side is exposed.

 

5.by doing this you are only allowing toni to exit the helicopter through the passenger side only.

 

6. keep exiting and entering the passenger side until tony leaves the door open

 

7. once toni leaves the passenger side open go to the yellow marker and activate the cutscent

8.once the cutscene is over you will be facing a ledge, jump off that ledge and go to the passenger side of the helicopter and jack it and fly it away!!! dont bother killing the triads.

The only idea I have is to put it into the Staunton garage, if it will fit, drive to the nearest boat, take it to Portland, and save there. Then, after you finish Portland missions, you should have a helicopter in Staunton.

 

Edit: How do you prevent the choper from rising after the cutscene?

^^^ i will try what you said and as far as putting it in the portland garage well thats out of the question. I tried for an hour. and the Staunton safehouse isnt even open when i flew over to it and the garage wouldnt open.

 

so are you say that if i leave the helicopter in staunton grab a boat, complete the "calm before the storm mission then i will still have the helicopter sitting in the same spot even after going island to island?

i doubt this will work but i will try it.

 

You have know idea how good it feels to fly the chopper freely in this game, it feels good.

No, I meant putting it into the garage in Staunton. If it doesn't open, then it will not work.

 

Unless you can put the helicopter into one of the garages, I do not see a way of keeping it. Still being able to fly it arround is neat.

 

I know that someone has managed to activate the lift bridge by traveling to Shoreside early. Maybe the same thing will activate the Shoreside safe house. Would the Shoreside garage be sufficient to stash a 'copter?

Sounds promising I´ll give it a try.

:Nearly did it, the heli took off too fast, but I used a Faggio to block the pilot door wich worked fine.The passengerdoor stays open if you press a directionalbutton when exiting the door.I´ll keep trying!

You don´t have a US-Version or do you?Because my copy is US so I could upload it.

 

BTW I did it, I can now fly around the city with no limits, altough I am still on that mission.

I´ll try pushing the heli in a garage, but I don´t think it will work.

A few tips for everyone else:

Do what DACBONE says just don´t park the heli near the stairs, park it in the alley with th front end of the

heli pointing towards the stairs(the street is very tight don´t worry if the heli touches the walls, it never exploded for me). Now get out of the heli and walk round the corner the get the Faggio, drive it to the pilotdoor of the heli and make sure it´s real close.Get of the faggio and into the Heli(use the passengerdoor).Now get out of the heli and hold a directional button, if your Faggio is parked close enough,

you should now leave the heli trough the passenger door, and cause you hold a direction the door should stay open.If it dosen´t work don´t worry just try parking your faggio closer and repaet the process.

Now walk upstairs to the yellow marker and do not skip the cut-scene.

After the cut-scene wich is missing the heli jump down to the heli real fast and get to the passenger door.

Go in and fly off!!!!

 

EDIT: I don´t see a way of putting it in the Portlandgarage.Stauntongarage won´t open cause it´s not unlocked(That´s very sad cauz I think the heli would fit in.) so I guess you have to use the glitch when you want to fly the heli, wich is not as hard as it might sound. The method works fine I only needed two tries.

I think the only way to get a heli in a garage is to steal a policechoper wich is nearly impossible at the moment.But who knows what we are capable of...

Ok after flying around with the heli for a while I checked a few things:

I don´t think you can go to the SSV garage cauz the heightlimit has to do with your height to the water, so

the hills in SSV are nearly at the limit. I stopped flying around there cauz tree became a problem.

The heli is not destructable at least he can take very much.Then my game crashed (for the first time in LCS) cauz I hit a tree.

So now I am trying to redo my method, looks like I had a serious amount of luck the first two times.

But I am sure it works again.Also I am trying a few other things in the method to make it more efficient.

SRY for not sgowing you pics, but I don´t have a DigiCam.

I retried this method for a few hours and there are many problems, I did not have the first two times when it worked.One time I was kind of to early at the heli and I managed to get in but the heli was stuck between the walls(at my first two sucessful trys the pilot started automatically so taking off was not a problem). For the last 10 tries it was impossible to stand right when pushing Triangle to enter, Toni started running around like a headless chicken and the heli took off.

So I guess I´ll keep trying another 4 hours.

The first two times worked soo fine... and now, everything seems to be a problem.

When this method worked, I had to get in the choper two times before I flew off, first time the personon the passengerseat got out and I got out too, then I reentered the heli and till I sat on the pilot seat the heli was already high enough to fly, as another time I managed to get in and the heli was stuck... so what´s the deal???

So I´ll have a break now, before my brain collapses, keep up the good work guys I´ll tune in later.

Hey i need 1 answwer from DACBONE or you. Have you flown over the Casino in staunton?How high can you go up from the highest roof of the casino?

Hey i need 1 answwer from DACBONE or you. Have you flown over the Casino in staunton?How high can you go up from the highest roof of the casino?

Not too high I guess I´ve not exactly flown over the casino but the height limit is as high as the roof of

the cartelvilla in SSV and it´s related to high you are calculated from the waterline.

I think it must be 4.max 10meters above the casino, maybe a bit less. So SRY I´ll try it if i´ll get a choper again.

EDIT: IT WORKED AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!YIPPIE I tried to fly over the Casino and it´s about 7meters over the roof.Hope that helps Stone Cold.

If it wont fit then it wont fit. I see no way around this. Asuming all other helis in the game are locked then we indeed have no way of getting a heli until the game is modable or the saves are cracked.

 

You did a good job Dacbone, I think you deserve a karma star or something for your efforts. It's a shame that it all came to nothing though.

That should have been sufficient for the heli to save. I guess the mission script removes it from the game when the game ends even if it is in the garage.

 

Though, now that edisoncarter hacked the save games, this doesn't really matter.

Could somebody please make a video of this method, I can't work it out.

 

edit: I worked it out. As a tip, remember that the Helicopter is Damage Proof and Bullet Proof so don't worry about the propellors going into the wall. Get the helicopter in the VERY corner of the L shaped allyway with the body of the helicopter facing West. You have to fly under the second part of the stair case. Don't worry about not being able to take off by being too close to the wall; The cut scene from going into the marker will have the Helicopter a "jump-start"

It's one of the last missions for JD O'toole, I think jacking it is part of the mission so when you get there the process should be clear. You can get helicopters using edisoncarter's cheat device rather than trying to jack it from the mission.

Hey There!

I've also tried to stash my heli in the Portland garage and it worked!

I landed my heli facing the garage door and pushed it in using a car and a rocketlauncher (the heli doesn't explode)

Just the tail was hanging out but that didn't mather. Then i ran into the house and TRIED to safe... But you can't cause you're on a mission!

So I stole a car and went back to the Triads, leaving my heli in the Garage. When i killed the last Triad the "mission failed" message was displayed plus I was Wasted.

Next i went back to the garage but heli was gone

So that doesn't work...

 

P.S. it IS possible to reach the garage in shoreside vale but it isn't open yet just like in staunton...

If you take the heli to SSV you cant get higher then the back alley way of your SSV house and just slide on the ground so we are still not able to see the observatory
