Importing models into SA

Ive created a row of shops(3)

I drag box over all objets to export then i get "Hierarchy Error"

"More than 1 Hierarchy links where selected!

Only 1 is allowed in dff"

Since im new to progrma i obvisously dont understand how to put it right sad.gif

Well, it does not work for me. I have created (with 3dsmax 9) the dff and the col files. I made the txd of the model and in the Map Editor, shows the model fine!

 

So i put it in the game, and when i get close to the model, the game crashes. Any ideas??? confused.gif

I'm not an experienced modder, but I do have my own question to add to the list:

 

What exactly do I add to the IMG (GTA3) archive? the dff, the collision, the texture? Isn't the collision supposed to be a part of the dff file?!

 

Oh, and the tutorial is vague and unfinished, like where it says add all the files to the archive; Which files specifically need to be added? Kinda important info if you ask me.

Sorry for the double post, but I really need help here importing my own models! blush.gif

 

I model it out in gmax, create a mesh collision, and then texture - but it won't let me export. I must be doing something wrong...

 

Will someone link me to a better tutorial? All I'm trying to do is add something simple like a box to the gameworld - but there's a serious lack of good tutorials online. All people ever say is "google it"...

 

What a load of BS, unfinished tutorials and no help from the community, this is supposed to be the most active GTA related forum in the world but I'm not getting any help! mad.gif

Guess I'll just download that 30 day trial of 3D studio Max; see if the scripts actually work for that program (right now I'm using gmax, and the support sucks)... dozingoff.gif

Oh, and I know how to install the scripts, and also how to use the listener and the GTAMax program.

I can see my building in 3ds max , cinema 4d and zmodeler but in MEd then it is a flat square mercie_blink.gif

+ i did the building in Cinema 4d , i am noob on 3ds max tounge.gif

Hello. I have problems with .col files. When i export (your way) some model to .col, doesn't working. My game didn't crash, but .col file isn't there.

I try with old versions with Kam's scripts and it's export .col files, working, but they are not like .dff model. Player is on the air or it's inside the building... mad.gif I Have a problems with english too, sorry tounge2.gif [ I'm with 3ds max 2010 32-bit version, that helps ?]

hi....i'm new to GTA modding and i must say, i got addicted to it..........

 

i did a work on this tutorial and got pretty good result......

 

but i want to ask something.........

 

here in this tut, we are placing one object in the map, and we are thus creating one test.col, one test.ide

and one test.ipl file

 

i want to ask that......can we just create one ide file and put more then one model or object in that file??

 

suppose i want to place statues of all grlfrnds of CJ in front of CJ's mom's house, then can i bulid just one one ide file which will have all the models or objects of the grlfrnds and they all will share same col. file??
