GTA3Freak-2001 Posted November 17, 2005 Share Posted November 17, 2005 See this is the problem you people fail to relise that LCS has been designed in every aspect to be fitting of the PSP's portable nature. The missions are setout for short bursts of gaming, many abilites from corrent GTA games removed such as swimming and full featured flight. A slightly lower detailed map, the whole thing has been designed on PSP for PSP. It's just not feasible for Rockstar to put it on PS2 because for a start it would need to be modified to meet the standards of PS2 and if it was on PS2 then Sony aren't making anything out of it because most people already have a PS2 and will ignore the PSP version but not many have a PSP. That means "they" arent trying to force you to buy anything. Rockstar saw the new handheld device and it's potential and said "I bet GTA would be dope on that". They made it and that's it. Gaming industry is the business, and as any other business both Sony and R* just want to make money. Let me explain. Sony realised the potential in GTA series and simply purchased the license from the R* for LCS, so it can only be released on PSP. Basically the same thing they did with PS2, when they purchased the rights to have almost all games to be released on PS2 first, then on PC, Xbox and others. Example GTA SA, PS2 version released first then PC and Xbox. For R* its easy money. First they have a good piece from Sony for the license for LCS PSP only, then they probably used most of the GTA3 and VC conversions to make LCS. The end result, both Sony and R* received a good cash return, and thats how its done. Raptomex is 100% correct. Unfortunatelly they are kind of forcing you to buy each other. LCS promotes PSP, and PSP promotes LCS. PSP associated with LCS and the other way around. I really dont think that R* would make and publish the game just for the fun of it. Money is still playing a very valuable role in their decisions making process. After all R* need to pay bills as we all. Thats how money making business operates.
