GTASA SF is a software designed by me to save and use all gta save files. As GTA itself don't save upto 8 files, I designed this program to do this job by just some mouse clicks. biggrin.gif

SEE PICTURE:

user posted image

HERE ARE THE FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM

1- Automatic identification of files inlove.gif

2- Automatic import of identified file to a proper backup folder cookie.gif

3- Automatic export of a file to any place i.e. GTA San Andreas User Files

4- Name your file by selecting between GTASAsf1,2,3... etc when you export to "GTA San Andreas User Files" folder

2- Saving in a proper sequence

3- One click needed to know how many missions are saved

4- One click needed to know how many missions have comments

5- Comments can be word or pictures or both

6- Easy identification of a mission by name, comment and pictures available at same time.

7- You can know catloaf_by_anuj.gif

a- How many missions are

b- How many have been saved

e- How many are left

f- How many missions have comments and pictures

Just move your mouse on the list and tooltip text will tell you all this

Now it's easy to save, find and reuse your GTA save files.

It seems that there is no other software for this purpose. if there is and I don't know, please tell me.

OR

If you are facing the same problem, use mine.

This is a great tool mate too bad people here are too stupid to see what you've done is a very useful little tool. I might actually move this topic to one of the editing forums which is designed for misc applications like this.

Annoncement of the new version of GTASA SF

I am currently working on a new version of this tool which is now nearly completed.

The firt change is that now you can save your files in sets. It will allow you to save a file multiple times.

i.e

Main Directory-Savefiles1-Data-Savefiles

Main Directory-Savefiles2-Data-Savefiles

etc.

You can create these folders in splash screen. (See below)

user posted image

The other big change is that you can now edit the list of missions by adding, removing and replacing missions. You will also be able to change the sequence by bringing a mission up or down in the list.

Moreover all known problems are fixed.

The people who have used it can report bugs or errors or give any comments on what I should add, before I put it on web.

Should it support GTA-LC and GTA-VC or not?

Thanks - : -

Thanks Bryceroni69 for your comments.

Program is created and tested with .Net Framework v1.1. Although windows installer itself can identify and tell you what version you need and from where but I, again explain that;

.Net Framework v1.1 is inside you windows CD (if its v1.1 or leter then you dont need to download)

If its not available then download here -:.Net Framework v1.1:-

FOR PEOPLE FACING ERRORS

If a file is not recognized by GTASASF automatically, it means that missions' list is changed.

Here is a backup.

Just copy this list to your 'missions' after clearing existing list file.

Visual J has nothing to do with this software.

It is just a simple installation. .NET Framework is not an extra thing, its a part of windows so I don't know why you still couldnot install it. Moreover I completely checked it many times and found it working.

However;

Uninstall GTASASF and .NET Famework

Then install .NET Framework v1.1 or later first and then run setup.exe.

Next time please inform me that

Which version of windows and .NET Framework do you have?

And Did you succeed to install or error is on installation time.

THANKS

While importing gta save files some people faced this problem

"'-1' is not a valid value for 'maximum'. 'maximum' must be greater than or equal to 0."

This problem is caused when

1- No Save file folder is loaded from splash screen.

2- Folder is opened but it has no missions.txt file.

In both cases your list of missions will be empty.

In 1st case please start GTASASF.exe and from splash screen click create after typing an appropriate name such as "New files".

And then or In case of 2nd point, goto Options/Settings page and click on Load defaults and then Save changes.

Remember Your list of missions must be filled if not then do as mentioned above. If some of missions are not in the list then copy the list given in this topic and paste them in "Missions.txt". It will be in [GTASASF's directory\Save file folder\Data\Missions.txt].

HOPE IT WORKS.

If you're going to use my work (the walkthrough plus all of the screenshots) I'd appreciate it if you'd ask for permission first. It's a nice idea, but at least give credit where credit is due. I put a lot of hard work into that walkthrough and I'm sure you wouldn't like it if somebody took credit for your work.

I am very very sorry that I didn't asked you. I just added two or three pages of walkthrough just to tell people for what "comments" page is. I didn't publish the whole walkthrough. Walkthrough is more valueable and informative than my software.

HOWEVER

The credit of anything (that I might have used in my program and Its not created by me i.e, walkthrough) goes to its respective creaters .

People who still face problem in importing/exporting files;

DO THIS STEP BY STEP

1- Start GTASASF.exe

2- In the box on splash screen write "NEW SAVE FILES"

3- A message box shows that no mission file is found. Click OK.

4- Notice that list of missions is empty (Which should not be, it shows that there is no mission file).

5- Open "Options/Settings" page.

6- Click "Load defaults".

7- Click "Save Changes".

8- Return to "Save Games [backup]" page.

9- Click "Import" to backup a file.

10- "Open" dailog box will show up. Browse to gta save files in "My documents" folder.

11- Select any file and click "Open".

12- Now a message shows that "File [any file] is identified. Do you want to save it.". Click "Yes".

13- If an error shows that path is not found then create foilders "Missions" and "Comments" in the "Data" folder.

14- To make sure file is saved click "Backuped items". It will tick that file in the list.

15- To export that file fist select it from the list and click "Export GTASASF".

Also wait for next version.

I will remove all errors and it will be a good practice for such program for next GTA.

I get a 404 Yahoo page when I try and download. Will this work with save files from a game with a modified SCM?
