A proposed settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit concerning the performance of the PlayStation�2 computer entertainment system ("PS2"). You may be a member of the Class whose rights may be affected by this lawsuit. The sole purpose of this notice is to inform you of the lawsuit so that you may decide what steps to take in relation to it.

 

If the settlement is approved, Class Members who complete and return a Claim Form, on or before February 16, 2006, may be eligible to receive settlement benefits. My ps2 had that error 2 weeks after I got San Andreas, I was pissed off but there is no way in the world I will even try to get money from Sony.

 

I also recieved this email.

@lawsuit: it seems the only people who stand to make any money off of this are the lawyers. to qualify for any small reward, your ps2 has to be less than 13 months old and has to be a certain model number. even then you stand to make either $25 for replace of game, a new game, or $41 for repair or replacement of the ps2. while the lawyers for the class get between $700,000 and 1.5 mil

one of my ps2s just died last week.

the tray opens but nothing will play, and only a couple months after the 2 year warranty was up.

 

its also the third one ive had,

equaling the 3 ps1s i have because they kept breaking or would only play on their side.

 

im buying a ps3, probably one of the early ones but ill be getting at least a 2 year warranty.

ive learned from sonys mistakes...
