Raindancer
I did search back 3 pages and only found info on the PC version. I just played the demo in this months OPS2 Mag. I feel undecided wether to buy it or not. I liked the look of the game and like the design a sim feature. I however didn't like to the direct control of my sim, i prefer the old point and click way. Whats are your feelings on this game? (I can't buy it for the PC because my computer with explode) Is it worth buying? whats the story mode like? (I enjoyed sims bustin out on the PS2, is it similar?) Thanks
Kanney
When all else fails, rent it. I bought Sims and Sims Busting Out, I played bustin out for maybe 3 hours then it gathered dust on the shelf until only two days ago i traded it in. Biggest waste of money, not that I didnt like it but that it wasnt my fave, and there were games i rathered playing over it.
Raindancer
I did think about renitng it, but then i got to go to the hassle of signing up with Blockbuster and then treking on down to the shop to rent it. (i trashed my old account by "By not returning my movie on time" (well 5 weeks!) may have to get another account
Lord Evergreat
I've got it for the X-Box. I haven't played it that much yet but what I have played so far has been pretty good. Might get boring pretty quick though.
Lazlowrocks.
Meh, Sims games on consoles lack the PC feel. 1, no mods. 2, its just not the same.
Hell No..
I'd say no. My girlfriend bought it the other day. Taking it back. You can run around in a third person view. It totally loses the Sims 2 feel from the PC. Dissapointing really. I'm on Twitch! Are you? Come say Hi. https://www.twitch.tv/priceyryan
Knife
PC is better but the sims games haven't been too bad on PS2. I know I am not getting it as I do have it on the PC.
original gangster
Yeah I played that demo too, and I own The Sims 2 and the expansions on pc. The PC version is much better than the PS2 version, it has a more sims feel to it if you know what I mean. The click way is what sims is like, the PS2 RPG style control your character just feels wierd. Having said that, the PS2 version might be worth it if you can't play it on PC. Sometimes I can hear my PC crying inside trying to load up a massive house I built. I haven't played much of the demo, it unfortunately cuts off after 12 sim hours. Definately woth a rent first to see if you can get into it. I think a choose-your-way-of-controlling the character would've been good for people more use to the Traditional PC way. Cran.
Personally, I wouldn't touch any non-PC Sims game with a 100 foot pole. Controls are crap, has this bullsh*t "Story" like mode where you have to complete goals, and just doesn't feel like Sims should be. Sims is a PC game, it needs a mouse and keyboard to be enjoyed, 'nuff said. Sell your PS2 and upgrade your computer?
Raindancer
I was thinking pretty much the same. I had the Sims 1 on my Pc with all packs up untill Vacation. But my PC was not impressed and killed itself. I just needed a Sim fix and thought PS2 might help out, but after playing bustin out i dont like the fact i cannot build more than one storey and have limits to the amount of furni i can put into a house. I think i'll leave it and wait for a new PC from father christmas
