Ping
I was watching Saving Private Ryan on TNT moments ago, when my attention was drawn after hearing a loud and clear "f*ck". Uncensored as daylight. The other day something else was on TNT and I thought I heard another 'f*ck', but thought it was just my ears. Have I been living under a rock, and now f*ck is acceptable to say on regular cable channels?

Yeah I'm watching it now, and I think when they decided to put this movie on TV they already decided to put it on completly uncensored because I mean if Saving Private Ryan was censored then it would probably be like an hour long. Sly_Madman
yeah, i've been watching it, and after commercial breaks they announce "This program contains strong language and intense violence, viewer discresion is strongly advised". But I have heard them say sh*t and bullsh*t on tv without it being censored. Two accountable times are during Aliens at 6am and Zoolander at about 1am. Groovy
I remember when Saving Private Ryan was first shown on TV on ABC, it was uncensored. And seeing how it is Veteran's day, maybe thats why it is uncensored.

Craig Kostelecky
Steven Spielberg only allows networks to show "Saving Private Ryan" if they show it completely uncensored. You will never see that movie on public airwaves with anything cut out (or bleeped). The neworks can either show it as Spielberg shot it, or they cannot show it at all. EDIT: And cable (even basic cable like TNT) is not regulated by the FCC. They can say or show anything they want, as long as it's okay with the network's Standards and Practices department and (more importantly) the show's advertisers. papanesta
People swear here at like 8pm in the evening. No wonder we all swear so much in the UK.
ganja_man_biatch
well from the opening seen on d-day, if that had been edited, it would have took away from the whole feel of "i'm going to die" in the movie, i guess speilberg looked at it as a masterpiece sorta of like, would u block of judas's or jesus's face in the last supper. it takes away from the whole feel. Captain Keyes
ABC used to air the movie uncensored every once in a while, but they pussied out and stopped after Janet Jackon's nipple slip incident in fear of getting fined by the FCC. You can't censor most war movies for family viewing anyway.
