tracia
yes. there is another post about this but it doesnt help me at all. Ok heres my problem. I have added Shortcuts into "uster track files" and went to audio-user tracks-scan computer for user tracks- or soethin like that and it says "scan completed sucessfully" but it doesnt ever play my tracks! I have the lastest version of WMP and the music i add is straight from there because i copy my CDS to WMP. So it should be MP3s right? Does it being protected and liscensed make a differece? If so, how do i change it? Ive spent half my day trying to figure this one out. Help!! thanks.

Help!! thanks. yeah i have the same problem, when i tune to the user tracks radio station it just plays endless streams of commercials, ive also done the scan user tracks thing, but to no avail.. maybe we are missing a codec? i even tryed pasting the entire mp3 files into the user tracks folder once the shortcuts didnt work, but got the same problem
tracia
hey i figured it out. Its because its lisenced i think. I put some songs that i downloaded off of Limewire into it and it works just fine now. Try just downloading songs and putting them in. It should work then. To check this, open WMP, then tools > options. click the 'rip music' tab, and see which format it is using to rip. Also have you put a shortcut in 'user track files' for each individual track you want to play? Hope this helps.
Vin.
I had the same problem, but I got it to work. Go into the audio options, go to user track files, scan the files twice, change the option to sequental and then back to random (or however you have it) and switch the other option in that menu once, now go back and see if it works. This seemed to work for me.

I think you have to set it to mp3, otherwise you'll get no mp3s... At least that's the problem I had with my usb stick...

3dogs
Hoping this will help someone avoid it, I will admit my stupid mistake. I put all my shortcuts in the wrong folder. I put them here: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\audio\User Tracks. They must be here: C:\My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files\User Tracks

If you've got the latest WMP (version 10), the mp3 codec is built into it. Just change ripping format in ripping options.
tracia
Cool, now i dont have to buy a whole ripping mp3 software. I know this isnt about User Tracks, but somehow i got it into my head that you could fit more MP3s then regular WMAs onto CDs. Is this true? It doesnt for mine at least. How do i make the files smaller?
