OzzySM12
As some of you may know I run a thing caleld San Andreas News (link in sig). Its a story done in San Andreas and I release new parts everyweek. However when i release new parts I PM all the people who wish to be, to tell them that the new part is done. It is a pain in the arse to open all there account windwos and go through them all Pm'ing them. It would be much easier jsut to create one PM and send it to all the people I put in the list. Dont know if it would be possible for you guys to make the fourms do that, but if you did I'm sure it would also help all the people who run gangs and stuff as many of them bhave newseltters. adamcs
It's possible, but it would be badly abused by PM spamvertisers etc..
Vin.
I'm sure they used to have the CC(Carbon Copy) option where you could send it to like, 10 people or something, I might be thinking about a different forum, but I'm sure it was GTAF. Anywho, yeah, this is a good idea, but may result in a lot of PM spamming, where people send links to their website or whatever.

Yep, you're right. That was available to us 7-11ers during the NVB20i fiasco. I didn't use it at all, nor did I find it too useful. I suppose it would be alright for uses such as the San Andreas news thing you detailed, but for the average user, despite being unnecessary, as said before it'd promote PM spamming. OzzySM12
Those bloody spammers jsut wreck everything for everyone. Is it not possible to have like a block on the feature untill you have been on the forums for a year or so. I know most spammer type people do not last out a year before getting banned or moving on. Anyway, I'm jsut stabbing randomly in the dark here with reasons to have the feature.
Mxyzptlk
I think only official group members like the gangs and staff should be able to use it... qualify it the same way you do the reduced search flood control.
Justin
I think only official group members like the gangs and staff should be able to use it... qualify it the same way you do the reduced search flood control. That's not necessarily fool-proof though. I've always thought that simply being in an official gang doesn't qualify you as someone who's in more need of a reduced search flood control. Of course, it's often seen simply as perk of being in an official gang. But some members who are consistantly helpful (led-by's, for example) and whom are likely to use the search function more often and for legit reasons than others miss out if they don't have a gang. Yourself, for example. The same goes for Carbon Copy PMs. I remember a few months back, maybe a year ago now, there was some guy (from memory, ZeroBomb) who was a member of the Scorps, and used to just PM spam regularly. That said, as far as I can see, the member group qualification works the best and is the most practical limitation for these sorts of things. Demarest
When I was a moderator, I thoroughly enjoyed a lot of the fringe benefits. Mass-mailing being one of them. Of course, I led a few projects and that was really the only time I used it. Still was nice.

YeTi
I thought it was possible to mass pm people. Guess not. I made that assumption from that in the compose new pm bit. Look at the yellow squared bit. Do people who can mass pm just put a comma and space inbetween the names? Or something else? R.I.P.
