lesfleanut
Anyone? Kinda late as it was released a couple months ago, although I did a search and saw no talk of it. Anyways, I really like this album - a lot. I especially like how all their albums are part of a big story, the whole concept album series/rock opera thing gets points from me... Not to mention the fact that everyone in the band is exceptionally good at what they do. If you haven't heard it, and you are more accepting to great music that is different, than you should hear it. Groovy
The vocals......oh the horror, the horror. But yeah, really don't like them.

I guess it's a matter of opinion, I really like the vocals.. I thing claudio is a great singer with a nice high range reminiscent of geddy lee. PCJ.
The vocals really are a love or hate kind of thing with Coheed and Cambria, but I'd agree, I think he's a great singer. I really like them, and are probably one of my favourite bands around right now.
Moonshield
They're pretty versatile, which I can respect in a band, but I could never really get into them. At least they did a decent job covering The Trooper though.
-shaDow
I think it's weak how people dismiss the band just because of the lead singer's voice. I'm really digging the new album. When Welcome Home first came out I was expecting the same type of stuff I've heard from their last album (not necessarily a bad thing), but the song ended up totally destroying my face. ToyMachine
Their music changed for the better on their new album. I'm not a fan of the vocals (I do like Rush however) but they do make catchy songs.

Musicly, I think there alright, but the vocals just completly ruin it for me. BTW, Rush kicks ass.
woodprior383
I love this album. There isn't a song on it that I dont like. My 2 favorites are "The Suffering" and "Wake Up". They are by far my favorite band.
Phatgordo13
Vocals are definitly a love or hate type thing. I agree. I dismissed them for awhile for just because of the vocals, but I got this new album and listened to it.....and yah I really like it. The album is straight as hell. Ive gotten used to the vocals and it actually doesnt sound bad at all after awhile. Its unique and thats good to have in a band.
lesfleanut
It's kinda like the mars volta, in the sence that the vocals either make it or break it for anyone. Both bands are amazing to me though.
ToyMachine
After I read this topic I listened to some of their stuff. Catchy. Got me listening to it for a while.
Saggy
I don't really know a whole lot abotu Coheed and Cambria, I just made an observation. They sound a lot like The Mars Volta. Anyone agree? EDIT I should've read the whole topic before I posted. QUOTE (K^2) ...not only is it legal for you to go around with a concealed penis, it requires absolutely no registration! lesfleanut
I wouldn't say they sound like TMV, but the whole vibe is reminiscent... I don’t know. I tend to think of other bands a lot when I hear C&C's new album... I can't help but think of led zep when listening to welcome home, and you'd have to be deaf not to hear a heavy police influence on mother may I. The final cut is a good track, sounds like a sprawling claypoolian cover of a floyd song. Maybe it's just me, but I'm hooked. I'll be picking up the other two albums and anticipating further releases. .

PCJ.
The final cut is a good track, sounds like a sprawling claypoolian cover of a floyd song. Right now, that ones probably my favourite track on the album, and you really can hear a Pink Floyd influence in that track. 'Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV' is one of the best albums I've heard this year, if not the best.

Tryst
Coheed and Cambria are f*cking awsome, the new cd is one of my best cd buys of the year. I absolutly love it, the four Willing Well songs are ungodly cool. I love to hear all of the influence these guys bring out and intrigrate; Rush, Pink Floyd, a bit of Led Zepplin at times. Kutthroat
We so had a Coheed topic not too far back. Asshole. Yeah, I quite enjoy them. The vocals did take a little to grow on me though. I hated them when I first heard 'em. And I agree with steve-0, In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 is my prefered album of theirs. Kutthroat mans his own jackhammer .
