I personally love it also. Though we always got the backwash of episodes on TV, I never realised it ended until I saw there was only 4 box sets. Futurama has more "heart" than simpsons of family guy, f guy is halarious (ive got season 1-4) but the characters/storylines have no real substance, it always just random jokes ("hey lois, diarrhea"). simpsons is great but it's starting to wear thin. Futurama on the other hand has cohesion in its plots, a REAL storyline heaps of easter eggs and hidden bits and halarious jokes. edit theres actually 5 boxsets, not meanign theres new episodes, just cause fox screwed around with the screening of all the episodes they divided it up into 5, only in the us or uk i think Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Some say it's a bad copy of Simpsons, I disagree, it isn't even the same as the Simpsons, aside from the character similarities with Homer and Bender, and possibly Fry with Bart, the two shows differ greatly. I don't watch Family Guy though. When futurama was first shown, the simpson was still in its peak. its the last 2 seasons which suck major ass. Futurama is a great show, but not better than The Simpsons. Family guy is just too random humor, too god damn funny for some people, just funny for others (like me), and not funny at all for the rest. The main reason I like Futurama better than The Simpsons is because the simpsons has a tired plot. In the beginning of the simpsons it was awesome because they put heaps of effort into making interesting episodes that had depth and so on (like who shot mr burns, those sort of episodes you never see anymore). I'm not saying simpsons is unfunny, you do get the odd new one which is toatally awesome, but i think the simpsons is starting top lean towards family guy type humour, with the complete randomness, or they are just focusing on select funny things about characters (homers stupidness seems to increase every episode for eg). Futurama was good because it had the same sort of humour as the old simpsons, with fresh characters, wayyyy more possibilites, plus the show had heart, the simpsons never really had the same feeling about it. Gonna have to stop you their, ask yourself this, could Family Guy or Futurama last the 11 or so years that the simpsons has?
