Lazlowrocks.
C+C? It's my first vector I've ever semi-finished. It's still not done though.
Pierce Brosnan
Looks great for a first try at vector. Well done.
king surfer
I quite like it. And for your first vector it isn't half bad. My only niggle is maybe you could define the nose a bit more on the left hand side? Other than that well done.
System_Shutdown
Wow yeah, that's great for a first try. But yeah, as king said, define the nose on the left a bit more.
Dup
Not a bad start but: 1. too many hard edges. Skin is smooth and should be represented so. Soft curves. this means using less control points too, looks messy. 2. Your colours could have been better chosen, although you can always change them later on, but hook up number 1 before you piss around with colours. To sum it up really, you need to build up about 3 variants of one shade of colour which only differ slightly but aren't that similar, so you get a small gradient effect. You need to make it a lot smoother but using less control points and more curves. When you get a basic peice together you can hook up some insane amount shades and shapes to build up smooth vector gradients without actually using a gradient. Always have a piece to look at as reference too, as with learning anything, examples are always helpful. Example 1 - Uses a lot of gradients Example 2 - Again, lots of gradients Example 3 - No Gradients Example 4 - No gradients Both styles can look good. When I say gradients I mean gradients i na vector shape, bit a bitmap gradient. Also, I made this for someone which you might find helpfull. Just how to make a proper curve. First 2 = wrong, last 2 = better.
