Why do i see orange grove in some places instead of grove street? What is Orange Grove? Anyone please help!

Orange was Grove Street's original colour before it got changed, I think. Which is why you see Ryder wearing orange in one of the loading screens.

Speaking of differences, and just to save on topics, how come on the box, and in the commercials and stuff for SA, everyone is wearing black and white instead of Green?

 

Smoke has no hat, his glasses, and a white T-Shirt.

 

Then, I think Sweet has a sock hat, black and white shirt, and black pants.

Rockstar made the cutscenes/videos/screenshots before the actual release. So they changed their appearance and look just before the release of the game. Hence the characters looking different.

I believe most of this stuff, like the clothes and name, were in the beta version or something. When I went to IGN for news on SA before it came out, they refered to it as Orange Grove.

Actually orange grove was the original name of grove street families. But I think they changed the name to grove street right befor the release of the game. I was also wondering about this myself before.

For some reason, I reckon I would of enjoyed playing the game being an Orange Grove member. Probably because Orange is my favourite colour

There are still references to the Orange Grove Families all over LS. Most especially graffiti that says OGF instead of GSF. The truth is probably that they were either just too lazy to sift through the whole game to remove all the references, or they tried and missed a couple.

 

However for the purposes of in-game realism you could always just pretend that "Orange Grove Families" was a name that the gang went by before they were led by the Grove street, er... division?

This is the OGF tree before they seperated. The OGF was a cluster of different gangs this included Seville Boulevard Families (SBF), Grove Street Families (GSF) and the Temple Drive Families (TDF). These gangs as I said before were all part of the OGF, and seperated and went their different ways. In the mission "Reuniting the Families", they were trying to get these gangs to bond again, but not much luck as 'someone' ratted them to the cops.

 

I'm suprised many people don't get this, it clearly stands out in the story.

 

Also I imagine that once they're all formed into the OGF that they would wear orange, but they don't unite so you were green.

I still see grove street graffiti in LS and i also see GSF greff in LS but Juilo G on RLS says Grove Street Families.

Did some of you even care about the storyline?! The Orange grove was the head organization, with three clusters, and as said already: GSF was only one part. The Reuniting failed, so GSF is still on their own.

 

How could someone who played the game miss that out...

I think it would have been cool if they could have alternate storylines where you could decide whether or not to re-unite the families, but alas, until there is a better way of storing large amounts of data etc, that won't happen.

Yeah - I do think that's a good idea Chalkstar, it would leave more room for decision and gameplay for you to play. It would also be cool if you'd be able to choose whether you're on the Ballas side.

This is actually what I was thinking too. But the reason that people never caught on to this in the story is because, Orange Grove is never mentioned. They only say grove street andn the other families names. So it is not clear what the name of the entire gang was. And also the gang was never intended of wearing orange. When told us the name of the gang would be Orange Grove, they showed pictures of the gang and they were wearing green.
