PetsOvernight
Can i ask somthing ?Which is the best for u Underground or Most wanted because i have Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 and police sux What the f*ck? Most Wanted kills Underground 1 & 2 to sh*t. And police don't suck, they add more fun to the game, and make it challenging. There's nothing like flying down the highway with 10 cops on your ass smashing through roadblocks and taking out cops. Maybe cops suck for you because you suck, or something. But yeah, everyone's going to say Most Wanted > Underground.

King Kapone
Of course Most Wanted destroys Underground I and II. What sucked about the Underground series was that the focus was to make your car look like a flashy Vegas prostitute. In Most Wanted, the focus is more of living on the edge, in the fast lane. At least in Most Wanted, instead of getting reputation on the streets, you get to tune cars properly (body kit, spoilers, hood, etc.) instead of making your car too "flashy" (mirrors, nitrous purge, tail/head lights, etc.) to pave your way to win. What would you like for a car? One that can keep up against the feds and other racers, or a car that Joan Rivers would endorse at its visual rating? Rocketkiller
No, this is the first time. I just went over it and the car stopped You mean spike strips? Just don't hit them. I don't understand why they make your car stop, it's just so idiotoic. I've got a problem with this game though. Ever since I reformatted my Windows drive I can't play MW for more than 10 minutes. At about 5 minutes the game freezes, but starts playing after about 30 seconds, then 5 minutes later the whole screen turns black and my computer stops. Does anyone else have this? PetsOvernight
As for spike strips, listen to the police scanner for any indication of roadblocks or spike strips. Sometimes they're be labeled as certain 10-codes (example: we've set up a 10-xx ahead... blah blah). If you hear any of this, check your GPS for a blocked road ahead. When you see the cars ahead, if there's a large gap in between a few, AVOID THIS AREA AT ALL COSTS. That's where they pute the strip, and hitting it with 1 tire will most likely get you busted, unless you're very lucky... If you can go around the entire block altogether, that's good, but if not, hit the speedbreaker, and ram through a patrol car farthest away from the strip as possible. Also note that spike strips only occur at heat level 4, so anything before level 4 is just a nice little roadblock. Good luck.
Hack.
Also, if there is a spike strip ahead and you are about to hit "triangle" (i.e. Donut Shop, water tower, etc.) either don't hit it, or use your speedbreaker while hitting it. If you do not, you will be forced to watch the mini cutscene that shows the cop cars being stopped. Meanwhile, you car most likely will be guided right through the spike strip. This can get pretty annoying. It's happened to me twice, right when I'd just finished all the milestones (I usually try to knock them out all at once.) Both times my whole freaking car ran over the strip. It stopped almost instantly. In fact, I hit the speedbreaker every time I hit one of those little traps for the cops. Many times during the mini cutscene, my car has been guided straight in to walls. Needless to say, at heat level 5 with 20+ corvette cop cars on you, it's kinda hard to get away when you slam head on into a wall. Edit: I forgot to mention that I beat the game also. Took me about 4 or 5 days I think. The challenges are hella fun. I'm at #50 now. They seem easy at first, but believe me... they will become a bitch to beat later on. Especially when you get to the ones where you have to do the toll booth time trials in a pizza delivery car, taxi, VAN, etc. Takes a bit to get used to the handling of them since they are slower and instead of having to hit the brakes like you have to do with the exotic cars, you usually only have to let off of the gas. The cop chases in the dump truck and cement truck are fun though. Dump truck + NOS = Fun. Edited January 4, 2006 by Hackah

I have some errors with the game. after 30min-1hour, the screen goes black, the sound freezes and I get : nv_4 disp display driver has stopped working properly, blahblahblah and so on. then I get reverted to the desktopand the game shuts down( but the sound of the car still going on) also my desktop gets all wierd colous and I have to restart. Then I found out that the game had conflicts with the antivirus( bitdefender). maybe it works for you too. Try closing all tasks before playing the game and see what happens. back on topic: I'm fed up with only 5 body kits. I wish they put in individual body options Ie:front bumper, rear bumper, sideskirts and some full body kits.

Hack.
The more I think about it, the more I think I might like Underground 2 more than Most Wanted. Most Wanted seemed to satisfy my need for cop chases, but it seems as if it's wearing off now. The past couple nights of playing Most Wanted with my friends ended up being a night of us playing Underground 2. In Most Wanted they totally messed up the drag races. There shouldn't be a turn so hard on the drag that I actually have to downshift on to make. It sucks that you can't even turn the traffic off in split screen for the drags. I think me and my buddies finish actually 15% of our races without being totaled. It's almost like there's a specific pattern you have to take to make it to the end. There should've been night races. I do like how they made it so your rep isn't dependent upon the look of your car. And what's this about not being able to spin out cars? They can sure as hell take you out though. And I don't know if anyone else has realized this, but "Catch-up" is on for the computer racers. Wierd how they always catch up huh? Even when they slam into a wall and you're doing a perfect race. I know you've noticed on the map they when they drop very far behind, they seem to go into warp speed on the map and catch up to you. But by the time to get to you, they are going normal speed again. To sum it up (I don't have time to nit-pick all the differences), I don't think the goal was to combine Underground with Hot Pursuit. Apparantly they just wanted a new franchise that was unique in it's own way. It's appearing to me that this game is totally unlike Underground 2 and Hot Pursuit. Don't get me wrong, I do like the game, but I'm missing the feel of Underground 2. I do hope they make an Underground 3. Underground 3 with, Project Gotham 3 graphics and handling (And proper HUD display). And cops. that'd be the perfect racing game for me. GTA3Freak-2001
The game will never be as it was(I am talking pre Underground) EA have become greedy pigs who just want money so every year without fail they will botch together a new NFS which within the time limit results in a not so perfect game. It will always be good but not great. @Derrick - Good god what did you do that GTO? Looks like someone tripped and spilt buckets of multi-colour paint on the thing. Hack.
I expected to be able to play 2 player Police action, like Hot Pursuit. I was drastically disappointed. Makes up for it with career mode, I guess. That had to be the biggest dissapointment for me without a doubt. I remember my and cousin I would play 8 laps on a course in Hot Pursuit with the cops on expert and see if we could both make it to the end. Without cops, split screen circuit, sprint, etc. seems boring to me. The cops keep it exciting. My hopes were high for drag racing but that was a let down. In general, the multiplayer sucks. I just don't know what EA was thinking. They either should've created Underground 3 which they already had a strong foundation with, or just added cops and changed the name. At first glance this game was awesome to me. I'm sure it will continue to be awesome to those who wanted a toned down version of Underground. But I'm in to that whole scene that Underground portrays. Even without the cops I think it's a better game now. Also, it's wierd how on gamecube Underground 2's graphics are better than Most Wanted. Hack.
Oh yea. I forgot all about that. That was awesome. It's wierd how "be the cop" mode is in the Nintendo DS version of NFS though. You think maybe some contract was signed where a new NFS game had to be released once a year for "X" amount of years. I hope the next game isn't rushed like this one.
