Edmachine 2,852 Posted October 24, 2005 well my question is this.... Witch is the best .SCM editor? It's just that I won't to make a mod (Somehow ).... I have tried SA Mission Builder but it sucks
redviper88 0 Posted October 24, 2005 I think this is the only mission editor for SA, but for me it seems to be working just fine (like VCMB). What is your problem with this builder?
Demarest 23 Posted October 24, 2005 Which is best is a matter of opinion. SAMB doesn't really suck; it's more likely that you just don't understand the material you're working with. Nothing wrong with that; we all have to start somewhere. The Mission Builder's have traditionally been considered the "easiest" becuase it looks most like regular English. Additionally, it is the most widely used, so you're best likely to receive support for it.
Y_Less 1 Posted October 25, 2005 Or try Sanny Builder. The code format is similar to that of Mission Builder but it has some extra features including a class system if you want to use that and a few other adanced features I would recommend you stay well away from. Zarg 0 Posted November 2, 2005 sorry for my bad english XD it looks like no one knows the best scm editor the best scm editor is a program called "Giddy" http://www.tproc.org, But is only for vice city i was looking for a giddy to edit san andreas scm, but i cant find XD if anyone find the san andreas giddy, please let me know
BBumper 0 Posted November 2, 2005 Go with Sanny Builder its fast and simple.
Bernard Jazz 11 Posted November 2, 2005 Yeah, Sanny builder is good. Although i got a bollock twistingly annoying problem with a code i only spent 5 minutes on (and spent an hour trying to fix and failing miserably.. this has nothing to do with sanny builder, i just like ranting). Zarg 0 Posted November 2, 2005 anyone knows giddy? i think no i tried sanny, giddy is better than sannybuilder sannybuilder sux really! you can download the vc version here http://vc-db.webtools4you.net
grovespaz 21 Posted November 2, 2005 I really prefer Sanny Builder, @Zarg: Why dont you like Sanny, i mean, give a reason be4 saying it sux..
Edmachine 2,852 Posted November 2, 2005 Well... The sanny worked on the original but not on the modded one so it's a problem
spaceeinstein 1,772 Posted November 2, 2005 Sanny worked on modded SCMs, too. Which modded SCM doesn't work for you?
Edmachine 2,852 Posted November 3, 2005 Sanny worked on modded SCMs, too. Which modded SCM doesn't work for you? Your All in one v1.1 don't get mad I only wanted to test it
Zarg 0 Posted November 3, 2005 @Grovespaz: i have so much reasons to say that giddy is so better than sannybuilder and Samb but, my first languaje is Spanish its really hard to explain my reasons in english who understand spanish?
Edmachine 2,852 Posted November 3, 2005 none of those 2 pages I could find giddy is there another place?
Zarg 0 Posted November 3, 2005 im sorry you can download the giddy at http://www.gtanetwork.it/zone/pafiledb.php...on=file&id=1579 directly
Un3462 1 Posted November 3, 2005 giddy/gtama is generally better if you want to do more than just copy paste everything. sanny is also becoming better in that regard, with its class system and other features. point is better still, because it also supports expressions (x*y+z*3, etc) and higher level language structures (if/then/else, while, for, switch, etc). Zarg 0 Posted November 3, 2005 im dont know for technical details exactly but i tried all sannybuilder and point features and my opinion is "giddy is simple, easy, fast, and for vc only "
random_download 0 Posted November 3, 2005 The best thing about gtama is that it is open source. If you plan on making a small change to the original scm, use SAMB or Sanny Builder. If you want to write a new scm from scratch, use Point.
Y_Less 1 Posted November 3, 2005 That's just a front end to VCDisAsm by CyQ and GtaMa by Dan Strandberg, its no different to using Notepad - its the compilers that count. Edit: bah, two people beat me to it!
Zarg 0 Posted November 3, 2005 any tool is useful for any work that depends of the user for example, i used giddy for modding in vc and no problems, i used giddy for everything, and when i say everything i mean EVERYTHING!

SilverRST 3,794 Posted July 8, 2016 Lol, I was curious about the title being '.SCM editor' untill I saw steve-m and Demarest which made me thinking it's a very old topic. Good job, yumul04. And btw, google failed in getting the proper 'Point' for you're problem.
